The reason why you can't play MP4 on TV is that your TV doesn't support the file format that you are playing. I found an article may be helpful to you. You can have a check. It's about why MP4 cannot be played at TV.

SOURCE: HT-Z320 displays PROT code and then shuts down

i had the same problem a prot display then it would shut down. turns out i had the sub disconnected(noise complaint from the shaking at my apartment complex) but the speaker wires for the sub connected to the amp or central unit. when i disconnected the sub i left the wires on the floor behind the sub separating the pos. and neg. somehow the wires got moved around and the pos was touching the neg. as soon as i noticed and fixed this problem the system was working fine. my samsung hometheater model is HT-BD1250

I have a Samsung 5.1Ch Home Cinema System. HT-Z320 and a SONY Integrated Digital TV DV3. Is there any way that i can set the surround up so that the tv can be played througt surround system and not just...

I just hooked up my HT-Z320 today. I had to use an optical audio cable to connect the audio output from my TV to the optical audio input in the samsung receiver (it's the only optical jack on the receiver). Then with your samsung remote in DVD/Receiver mode, click the Auxiliary button (near the top right of the remote). Hope this helps.

Need to connect some samsung audio/video components

I'm guessing that you would like all your components to play audio through the HTZ320. In order to get audio from all these components you will need a digital optical cable from the tv optical out to the HTZ320 optical input. And some composit audio cables (red and white) from tv audio out to the HTZ320 aux input. The video and audio from the dish box, bluray, and the vcr are all going to have to go through the tv first and then to the HTZ320. Use HDMI cables to connect the dish box and the bluray to the tv inputs and composit cables (red white and yellow) from the vcr output to the tv input. If you can give the exact model of the tv I can help you sort things out further. I hope this helps you.
