Find out which drivers are missing through the Device Manager then download them from the manufacturer's websites to from your Windows OS CD, which will have generic versions of the drivers needed.

My HP pavilion dv6000 gives the message BOOTMGR is missing...why?

Bootmgr is short form for Boot Manager and is the Windows Registry File that must be present to allow Windows to boot.
It is either corrupt or missing. In other words, you will not be able to boot without the use of your recovery disk, that you made when you first bought your laptop, or your Windows disk.
Insert either in your DVD drive and boot the laptop, you will be given the opportunity to recover your system or rebuild your system from there.
If you press F8 whilst and just before it boots, you may be lucky enough to catch the recovery disk on your hard drive partition.
Good luck and I hope it fixes your problem.
