Nortel 7310 voicemail will not reset

When I try to reset the voicemail password using the following it does not work:
- Feature 983
- Softkey <222>
- New password <0000> does not work

I tried deleting the mailbox and adding it back as well.

The extension is <222>. If I key and press the softkey and enter extension <222> with my new password it works and I can access the new mailbox I created. But if I key on the <222> handset the password does not work. There seems to be a mismatch but I don't know how to fix this. Help!

Thanks in advance,
Richard

You dont have the EXT of mailbox 222 assigned to ext 222. Go under F983 press mbox press chg press 222 press ok press next it was say EXT: see what ext is assigned to put in 222 press change enter 222.
If it tell you that 222 is already assigned you have to find the mail box it is assigned to. Usually involves checking every Mbox starting with 221

Hope this helps.

I am unable to unlock my voicemail on my Nortel 7316 phone system

You would need to log in as the voicemail admin using "Feature 983" followed by 102 (if you have 3 digit extension numbers) then the voicemail admin password. From there you can select MBOX and reset the password to 0000 for the mailbox in question.
