Hi there, most of the time, the technicians leave these Programming Overlays in the box, or in a box next to the telephone system.
You can look up these overlays via Google, or look for the programming template. We cannot tell you which buttons are for what, because each button can be programmed as something different on every set.
But here is a non-picture of the template...
Now you
will have to look at your LCD for 3 arrows
<- Heading....Enter->
<- Back .......Next->
You will not see these words in the LCD display, you just have to look for
the 3 arrows that correspond.

Meridian phone ringer too loud
You can adjust the ringer of your Nortel phone by dialing Feature *6, then using the volume bar to adjust the ringer while the tone is playing, or dial Feature *80 to adjust it there.
Pickup Group?
The extensions must be added to a ring group and the the number programmed to ring that group
I have nortel phone system, voicemail is not working at all and feature 981, 983, 985 all say inactive feature--how do I reactive the voicemail??
Dear Annabelle,Is the machine call pilot 100 or 150.if 100 the 2 leds in your left hand side should be on also in your right hand side the middle led should be on same for 150 the 4 leds in your left hand side should be on.1) Try to unplug the power cable and re-connect it again.2) Make sure that the the output telephone cable [100 (2 pair) or 150 (4 pair)] depends on the device comming from the call pilot to the Nortel PABX connected properly from both sides. dont hesitate to contact me if you are facing any doubt.Goodluck and Kind Regards;Ahmed Safaa El-DeebTelecom & Network Engineer

Contact your phone service provider or look on line for instructions from the phone manufacturer.
I need to know how
You would have to call the phone company and have them block long distance calls.
Feature codes
Does the two-line display say "Line in use" when you try select the line, or is the indicator next to the line button lit (so to speak), or both? First, try Feature * 0 then press each line key to see if they really are assigned to lines 2 and 3... they could be other functions or multiple appearances of another line.
