Water fills drum, everything still works

My whorlpool front loader has a allows water to fill the drum up when the washer is closed. the leak comes from the rubber seal where the soap is dispensed from. water runs downt the front seal, and in to the drum. after about 12 hours it fills enough to come out the front if the door is open.

The cold water valve is probably stuck open. It should open only when there is voltage across the valve. It could just be clogged inside. If you can remove it, you might be able to take it apart and clean it. Just make a note of how parts fit together as you are taking it apart. Clean all parts with old toothbrush and reassemble. Before you reinstall, connect it to a garden hose outside. No water should come out when you turn the hose on. If it still fails, just buy a new valve.

  1. Unplug washer, turn off water supply and remove hoses from the back of the washer.
  2. Remove the top panel by removing the three screws that hold the panel in place in the rear of the washer. With the screws removed, the panel will slide back, then lift off.
  3. The water inlet valve will be located at the left rear of the washer (as viewed from the front).
  4. Remove the dispenser hose, electrical connections and mounting screws and the valve is removed.
  5. Install new valve by following these steps in reverse order. NOTE: When reinstalling top panel, make sure you lay panel on top of washer, leaving a couple of inches of room from the front panel. Then, slide panel towards you (front of washer) so that the top panel slides into the mounting clips.

LG front loader WD14071SD6 won't fill and run on cold wash. Works fine on hot. Thanks

The main causes your washing machine is not filling with water MAY BE:

1. One of the water valves (hot or cold) supplying the washer with water has been turned off or closed.
2. Your washer has a shutoff valve on the back that may be in the closed position
.
3. There may be a water filter on your washer that is clogged and tells the washer computer (control board) to not allow water to enter.
4. A hose or water connector on the back or inside the washer is defective or clogged.

Why does my front load washer not fill up with water like top load washers

Most modern washers use little water. Let it do a wash cycle and see if the results are satisfactory. If not good enough there is a way to allow more water to be used. Give it a go first.

Leaking washing machine

Need more information. What type of leak (fast, slow, seep, etc.), when does it leak (when it is filling, draining, all the time, or don't know), and where is the leak coming from? If water runs out as fast as it is filling, you may have a drain hose that is ruptured or has disconnected. If it is a very slow leak, you may have a connection that is working loose. Or, it could be as serious as a hole in the outer drum. Is this a top loader or a front loader washing machine?

My front loading washer always fills with water when i am not using it

It sounds like one of the automatic water fill valves in the machine is leaking water when washer is off and the valves are closed. There are two manual water supply valves at the wall behind the washer, one for hot water and one for cold. Close the manual hot water supply valve and allow the washer to sit and see if it fills with water. If it does fill, then the cold water automatic fill valve is leaking. If not, then open the hot water manual supply valve and close the cold water manual supply valve. Allow the washer to sit again and see if it fills. If it does then the hot water automatic fill valve is leaking. Replace the leaking valve in your washer. You can order the new valve online using washer brand and model number on a appliance parts web store, or maybe even find it at a local appliance parts store.

Whirlpool Duet:drum fills up with water when machine is off.

Your problem is the water inlet valve has failed part # AP3128776 This is fairly common especially if you have hard water or well water.

Duet washer leaking

If the leak started occurring after the bellow was replaced, and it's on the left hand side of the door, I suspect the bellow is not seated around the fill tube all the way. I have experienced this problem before. Check the fill tube where it comes in by the door. The rubber should be seated back far enough to allow the tube to fill into the tub without obstruction. It could be that the fill tube is forcing water BEHIND the bellow and leaking into the washer and on to the floor. To answer your question, "YES", replacing the bellow could have caused your leak.
