SOURCE: Underneath Light funtion stopped working on Kenmore 62642 model
We see this a lot. The problem is on the control panel, which we regularly repair nationwide for $39.95 postpaid.
This light failure often occurs when a bulb goes out and the filament shorts, or when the bulbs are removed or installed without first unplugging the oven from the power line. Either can cause such a failure on the controller.

SOURCE: Start button on microwave does not work
Some numbers are missing off that model number. Would that be model 721.62622200?
(If not, please reply back with the correct model number off the tag)
If it's cooking with the programmed buttons, but Start is not working, it sounds like the keypad has failed.
The keypad for model number 721.62622200 is no longer available as a separate part.
So you'd have to buy the entire controller assembly, which includes the plastic frame, keypad, and circuit board, etc.
It is part # 4781W1M307A and it runs $110.10 at the Sears parts Web site.

SOURCE: kenmore elite microwave touch screen stopped working
Same thing happened to us. We just came back from Sears, where we bought another. Just for giggles, my wife suggested unplugging the old one and plugging it back in again. It works now. New one's going back to the store.
SOURCE: kenmore elite microwave oven displays "Locked" and will not respond
My Kenmore Elite microwave (don't have the model number in front of me) also mysteriously locked its own keypad (we were sitting in an adjacent room, heard a strange beep, and got up to find the LED reading "Locked."). I pressed and held down the Stop/Clear button for ~10 seconds and it returned to normal.
SOURCE: No Power
HI, there is a inline fuse located inside the microwave ion the power supply board. check for continuity. replace the fuse if necessary. if the fuse is OK, replace the power supply board.
