F7 ERROR CODE ON GH6177XPS

This is a known problem with this unit, and whirlpool has put out a Service Flash out on this. The reason this is happening is Electrical circuit interruption between the L1 and Neutral in the microwave invert circuit. This has to be addressed by a Tech.

Microwave does not shut off when door is opened.

It may be a bad door switch or mount, or maybe a relay on the control board is sticking.

First, see our safety info here.

Then we have a helpful file on diagnosing and replacing door switches here.

If that's not the issue, we regularly repair control circuit boards for $39.95, or you can order a new one (part number 8205237) for $203.08 here.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Whirlpool microwave model GH6177xps-3.\r\n

Alright since (part #6) isn't a perfect part number, I would believe that you were shipped two metal brackets but most likely a non-metal part broke if anything. If you can take a picture of the part that is broken, then I can tell you what part to order otherwise if you can pick out the part from the following diagram, then you can do it on your own from the following website.

http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5137483&diagram_id=955883#d955883

You can send a picture to my email at [email protected] and I will post back what part here.

Let me know how this works out for you.

Have GH6177XPS. Everything works normally. Have

It would be unusual for even a Chinese fan to have failed bushings in that short period.
If this unit has a conventional power supply for the magnetron, the noise might be caused by the magnetic field of a large power transformer. These can have a strong stray field and can cause other sheet metal near them to vibrate.
It isn't dangerous, assuming you don't poke a finger inside, to remove the rear panel and inspect the innards while it is operating. Using something that isn't metal such as a plastic or bakelite spoon (even dampness in a wood utensil can conduct a painful shock), you might try damping the vibration with it. If you can locate the source, you may be able to kill the resonance by applying a fairly large bead of pure silicone (nothing else) to the surface making the noise.
It it seems to be coming from the transformer itself, I would pull the plug, let the unit sit ignored for a couple of hours (there can be charged capacitors inside) then use a finger to press silicone into the transformer's laminations. These were once soaked in epoxy in a vacuum container to **** all the air from between the laminations to prevent exactly this kind of 'rattle.' They probably don't take the time for that any more.

Whirlpool GH6177XPS G2 Microwave

Your generator may be putting out a square wave instead of a true sinusoidal (sine) wave.

There is usually a circuit in the microwave which monitors the AC line for timing purposes, and a square wave may not be interpreted correctly.

I would consult the manual or contact the manufacturer or installer.
