**Drag and Drop**
Connect your MP3 player to the computer. Some MP3 players connect directly to a USB port,
while others connect to a USB port by way of a specific USB connector that comes with the
MP3 player. Open the folder on the computer that contains the music files you want to
transfer. This is usually the "My Music" folder, available from the "Start" menu, but it can
be any folder where you save your music files. Scroll down to the song you want to transfer
to the MP3 player. Right-click on the title. When the options are displayed, click on "Send
To." Scroll down the "Send To" options and select your MP3 player. This can be listed as
your MP3 player's name or as "Removable Drive." Click on this selection. Continue this
process until you have transferred all songs that you want to your MP3 player.
--**Windows Media Player**--
If you have a large playlist to transfer, you may prefer to do it from your media player,
such as Windows Media Player. Once your MP3 player is connected to the computer, open
Windows Media Player. Click on the "Sync Music" tab. Drag songs that you want from your
Windows Media Library over to the "Sync Music" column to create a playlist. Click the "Begin
Sync" tab at the bottom once you have all of the songs on your playlist. This action will
sync all of the songs to your MP3 player with one click. Disconnect your device once songs
have been transferred by clicking on the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in the bottom-right
side of the desktop tray.

SOURCE: sonic stage

If you haven't installed the latest version of SonicStage - v4.3, uninstall your version and install it from here: http://www.sonydigital-link.com/DNA/sonicstage/sstage_dl.asp?l=en&c=WM&sc=NWH&m=NW-A3000 If it still continues to lock up, I think that it's an issue with the database on the device. The easiest way to remedy this would be to initialise the disk and copy your music over again. To reinitialise the disk, go to the home menu, choose settings in the bottom left, go up once to "Initialize Disk" and select it, then select yes to proceed.

I am not able to install songs. i have installed sonic stage software. it detecting the player. after disconnectiog and playing, it shows no playlist.

Hi,

The issue happens as the songs transferred to the player is not using the SonicStage Software. I suggest that you backup the songs in the Computer and then Format the Player. To Format the Player; press and hold the DISPLAY/HOME button, select Settings-->Advanced Settings-->Initialize--> Format-->OK.
Once the Walkman Player is Formatted, install the latest version of the SonicStage Software in the Computer and transfer the songs again using the Software to the Walkman Player. Click here to install the latest version of the SonicStage Software.
This should resolve the issue.

How do i format my sony mp3player walkman

You have to work from Sonicstage.
Follow these steps:

Install Sonicstage (probably you've already done that)

After installing, connect the player to your computer and select 'format' from the menu (This will remove all data from the player, so you might want to make a backup).
Now transfer your music files to the player using sonicstage.

If you don't transfer them using sonicstage, the player data will get corrupt and tell you there is no data.

NO DATA:but i have so many songs on there ?

Transfer songs to your player only with SonicStage. If you did with other software, format the player from the menu and transfer songs from SonicStage. Sonicstage can be downloaded here under SonicStage. Make sure you install the security update after installing the software...
