I couldn't find any info on the net blogs I looked at, however, it's possible that the cpu doesn't recognize a larger than 4 gb card. Try your old 4 gb, if it works, that's probably what's going on unless you have a bad 8 gb card. Not all cards are upwards compatible due to engineering limitations.
Here's my problem: I recently bought as in today a PNY Optima 16 GB SDHC Card for my DXG-566V camcorder. When I inserted the card into it's SD card slot (which I assure you I did correctly), and powered up the camcorder, the camcorder didn't recognize the SD card, as it was still running off of the camcorder memory! Now I know the camcorder is just fine becuase after that I inserted my PNY 8 GB SDHC Card and the camcorder recgonized the card.
Please help me out here!
I heard about that quite a lot of time,in deed. But, I personally haven't load 16 or 32 GB memory card in Canon FS200. At the very begining, I was thinking of using 16 GB SDHC card instead of built in 8 GB memory. The shop assistance don't advice me to buy more than that 8GB because he also know that problem. So then, I am still using with 8GB untill now.
