Hitachi 55" when I turn it on the screen is blask and no sound.

When turned on the blue Power light comes on flashing for a few seconds then it flashes in sequence first the "Power" light, then red "Temp" light then red "Lamp" light. The 3 continue to flash in sequence for 10-15 sec. and the power shuts off leaving the red "Lamp" light on. I hope you can help.... Thx, Lane

I have the exact same problem! The red light indicating "lamp" stays lit after the "flashing" stops, but still no picture. HELP

First step to take:
refer to the user's manual to find: How to replace the lamp?
and second replace the lamp. www.andrewselectronics.com. prefer original ones.

Lights flashing is code talk .So call a TV repair guy and ask him good one will tell u what the light code means over phone cause he'll wanna sell u parts or get your business for service .

It tries to turn on. sound turns on for about 1 second then turns off. no flash on the screen, just stays black. blue power light flashes 4 times pauses then flashes 4 times etc.

sounds like a power supply fault on main board

Tv wont turn on but acts like it is

either a relay or power supply or high voltage transformer is bad. You can test any of these with an ohmmeter and a voltmeter or better yet a multi-meter. Then if low or no resistance, it is bad.

Hitachi 50v500 turns off, then back on.

shanerickp, how many flashes before the picture comes back? that could be your code for a lamp replacement. check your owners manual for that.

TV turns on for 2 second and then it is off

Your TV may have detected an error. Try first to have the TV unplugged overnight just to clear it out then observe it after turning it back on.

No picture or sound, just blinking power light

Hi...I am sorry to say that I had this exact problem. It ended up being the upper and lower panel drives. I contacted Hitachi and even though my unit was out of warranty, they agree to pay for parts. I paid for labor myself, and it cost me $199.95.
