Why is my L7 12" *******

The surround isn't torn everything looks perfect. i can push down on the speaker and its got perfect movement. PLEASE HELP. is there something i'm doing wrong

    Hello,



    The Kicker L7 is an awesome sub. Pretty expensive too.



    But, I'm not exactly sure what the problem is. Is it the L72 model or the L74? Do you get sound from the speaker at all? What kind of enclosure do you have it mounted in? What amp are you using to drive it? How are the voice coils connected?



    If I knew a little more about your system and some specifics about what's wrong with the sub, I'd be able to provide more assistance.

Get a volt meter and check the resistance from the positive pole to the negative. There should be at least 2 ohms or 4 ohms depending on the model you have. No reading at all? Check the leads under the terminals - are they still connected? Does the voltmeter read 0 or no ohms- then the voice coil is shorted out and should be repaired or replaced.
