SOURCE: 32" Samsung TV, No Power or Sound, power LED on, flashes 3 times

Most likely the set has lost vertical sweep or the feedback from that circuit. This will shut the set down to prevent a horizontal line from burning the face of the CRT. This will have to be looked at by a technician.

SOURCE: I am having problems with

Your problem is typical of Samsung LCD TVs. The capacitors on one of the internal boards are rated at 10V and should be higher. If you open the case, you'll see bulging capacitors. If you can handle a screwdriver and soldering iron, you can actually fix it yourself with a few capacitors from an electrical supply store. Simply read the specs off the bulging capacitors and get a higher voltage-rated replacement. For exmaple, if the capacitors say "1000uf 10V 105C", you would replace them with "1000uf 35V 105C" or similar rating. Or an easier method: Recently, Samsung themselves have been making repairs as it is such a widespread problem. Call Samsung at 1-800-726-7864 and they may just repair it for free, even if its not under warranty.

SOURCE: hi, power supply is not working

Can't say this for sure, but if it's a power supply problem, take the TV apart and access the power supply (unplug it, of course). Look at all of the capacitors (the little round cans with 2 wires either coming out the bottom or one coming out on either end). If they appear to be bulging (you can tell a good one from a bad one very easily), they're most likely bad and many times replacing those will solve your power supply problem.

SOURCE: Hi, I switched off my Samsung TV last night as usual, and when I tried to switch it on this evening it wouldn't switch on.I tried unplugging it and turning it on, but the red power light on the b

I see so many here with no sound/no picture issues:

ISSUES:

1. IF sound main fuse/s are good.
2. If no power or standby check main fuse, standby power supply and any signs of damage you can see---burnt parts etc.
3. almost all these sets the troubleshooting involves checking voltages on the main power board to narrow down the problem.
4. Be safe and if you do not know what you are doing don't open the set.

Answers to issues:

1. RE:fuses---if a blown fuse is found get a good replacement(not the generic ones like Radio Shack). Many fuses are special even aside from amperage--Don't put a higher rated amperage fuse in the set for any reason.

2. RE: power supply in set: if total dead aside from main fuse the set uses a standby power supply that runs 7/24 and a main supply (some are combined and some not.

Here aside from checking fuses you want to examine all the filter caps on the power/standby to see if any are puffed up or buldged up in some fashion--I attach a photo of a good one---top should be silver metal and PERFECTLY flat and have no brown material coming out on top or bottom.

What happens in the standby area is they use caps with too low a voltage rating (saves money) which causes them to fail in a year or two---the standby runs 7/24 and the heat dries out the caps and they fail.

3. Trouble shooting consists of the above and then at some point you have to buy and try a board to see if it fixes it or not.

4. Safety first--no TV set is worth getting injured or even killed over. If set is opened at least look for puffed up and bad caps like in this photo. 11_6_2012_3_22_05_pm.jpg

Samsung 40" tv not coming on

I would check out the power supply module for bad caps with bulging tops. Check DC voltages at the output connectors, you should have 5, 12, 24V.
