It sounds like the resolution for your computer graphics are not compatible with your display.
In any case first thing to check is if the monitor cable has been disturbed; next try powering-down (everything) and leave it for a few minutes, power back-up and see if it fixes itself, if not Power-down, wait a few seconds, Power-up then press Shift & F8 as soon as Windows starts loading (you have to be quick, so might need several attempts), that should get you to the recovery Screen, then Try TroubleShoot and Automatic Repair.
Also, you might strt up in Safe mode. If your montor works, might be the driver.
ok.. we need to do some translation first: 1. 'we on laptop green led on' ---> what picture is right above the green led that is on?? is it the battery? is it the little computer and it says says "on"? which one?? 2. "auto off' ---> are you saying that the computer shuts down by itself? or is the green led that goes off completely?
just to try to shoot an answer to ya with what I can get out of your question is that you may have a problem with the battery or most likely with the a/c connector that goes to your motherboard, check if that connector is loose, check if it's secured, if it's loose you may have to have some one sold it back on
it could also be the inverter, an electrical component on your laptop that converts dc to ac so you have backlight on your laptop monitor.. it could be failing... or it could be the backlight itself that is failing. there's a a little retractil button that you can press to 'reset' the backlight (like closing the opening the the monitor panel), press that little button and see if you get an image again.. some times you may need to do it until it starts working again on it's own.
Just for the heck of it, try blowing out the cooling fan with some compressed air. If you have never cleaned it and the fan stops turning, the computer will go into a safe mode and not start up.
Ther should be a vent somewhere on the side of the laptop that vents hot air cooling the CPU. That is where you need to blow it out.
Hope it helps- just a longshot...
