There could be quite a few problems with it. either it has something to do with the high or low safety pressure switches. Or you have a low voltage issue-not getting enough low voltage power to the coil of the contactor. how long do you wait after you turn the unit on? there is a 5 to 10 minute delay in the control board to keep the compressor from short cycling. meaning to keep the compressor from turning off then on again right away. short cycling a compressor too much will ruin it. There also could be an issue with the delay board it self. Or its a heat pump it could be an issue with the defrost board or the defrost sensor. I have even seen it to have a short in the wires of the coil of the contactor. But when that happens it will burn out the transformer or the low voltage fuse of the transformer or on the control board.

have you got it figured out already? If not can you give me more info on what it does? Or if it ever comes on after you wait at least ten minutes. Can you hear the hum the coil of the contactor makes when it is calling for the cooling. you might even have a problem with the contacts of the contactor not getting the proper power thru it to turn or keep the unit on.

Like I said there could be quite a few different possible issues with it to not stay on.

SOURCE: The circuit breaker for the

It is tripping for one of two reasons. Either the a/c unit is pulling too many amps or the breaker is weak. If you have an amp meter then check the amp draw on you a/c, if it is pulling more than 24 amps then you need to have it serviced. If it is not pulling that many then you have a weak breaker and need to replace it.

Cooling doesn't stay on

The outside and inside coils may need cleaning. Clogged coils cause excess pressures and heat of the freon that can cause safety switches to shut er down. Eveen a faulty power relay in the outside unit.Otherwise you may need a serviceman to locate the cause.

Sounds like the contactor in the condensing unit is stuck. That is why it will not turn off when the thermostat is satisfied. If the inside air handler is not blowing and the outside condensing unit is running, then this will cause the inside coils to freeze up rather quickly.
The contactor is located in the outside condensing uni in the electrical compartment.
If it is sticking it will need to be replaced.

Hello, a blower motor will not run for one of theese three reasons 1) No power to motor 2) bad capacitor 3) the motor itself is bad. One test you could do is take the wire of the L1 terminal on the control board and use a jumper wire and connect it to the wire on the high speed motor tap , if this gets the unit running then the control board must be replaced if it does not work then the motor is shot......make suremwhen disconnevting wires the power is off.

What temp should my golf run at if the cooling system is operating properly? Runs perfectly on the highway but when i stop start it goes from min temp to only half on the gauge but seems to be runnning...

the temp seems to be fine. 80degrees celsius or less in stop and go traffic is normal, especially since the cooling fans are working and coming on at the proper time. the what seems to be running rough is another problem that doesn't seem to related to the cooling system temp. may want to check the spark plugs for worn electrodes.
