I know it's frustrating but here goes:
- Get a PS3 camera (PLAYSTATION EYE - is what mine says on the back). Not sure if it HAS to be the one from Sony (Playstation Eye) or if any other will work, but my PS3 camera from Sony I bought did work perfectly for this "crack"
- Unplug the Guitar Hero microphone and set it off to the side somewhere. IT MUST BE UNPLUGGED FROM THE PS3 FOR THIS TO WORK
- Go into the Guitar Hero game and plug in your PS3 camera, the blue light on the camera will come on
- Now plug in the Guitar Hero microphone
- Now go to the training mode, or start a band, or whatever you want and you will see that the vocals are enabled
- Simply unplug your PS3 camera and you can use the microphone that came with Guitar Hero, like you're supposed to be able to
I know this is a BAD, BAD, BAD experience for you to go through, but I think it had something to do with PS3 system updates after they released all the hardware and software for Guitar Hero III. Hopefully you didn't return all your gear already...
I don't work for Sony, I'm an electrical engineer/gamer hobby enthusiast.
Hope that helps!
Cheers!
Joseph
