I have an Insignia NS-30HTV. It worked fine for awhile, now when I turn it on the only thing that appears is the please wait black screen. I'm not sure if I should just pitch it or pay to have someone look at it. I have no idea what the problem is. Please help me. If anyone has any suggestions on how to fix it your help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Corrupted firmware. A firmware update is necessary. Contact any service technician.
I had this problem twice in 3 years. today being the second. After some research, I came to the conclusion that it has to do with the video side of the circuit board or the tunner. Both times it happened the tv was searching for a high definition channel and it probably lost the signal and it froze on "please wait" Solution: (at least for me)
turn tv off
disconnect from power outlet for at least halve hour
disconnect ALL cables from behind the tv
after halve hour press power button on tv for 60 seconds approcimately (power and all cables off still)
release power button and reconnect 110 v power cable only to 110 v outlet
with all cables diconnected exept for power, press power button on tv
"please wait" might still come for few seconds if it does power tv off for few seconds and power on again.
using the remote or on tv, go back or press a channel that worked previously. (example: 05 fox news)
if it let's you select a different channel, leave it there and with tv on start connecting rca canbles coaxial cables from antenna or hi cables and good luck. this worked for me. please let me know if this helped.
Try unplugging the unit from the wall outlet. This can reset a typical error many times.

I have same problem on NS-LCD26A Model. I get the same momentary flash on the screen "Please Wait" I brought it back to Best Buy. Best Buy tells me to toss it out since it is not covered by warranty 13 months old (1 month over).
A refurbished DSP Board cost $165 on Bestbuy web sight. A new board cost $501 (with droping LCD prices a new TV is a better option). Risk of repair is the refurbished or New board has same potential to fail just check all the complaints with insignia. Cut your losses and get something other than Insignia/Advent next time.
