How do i unlock my dell latitude d620 notebook

So....

you're using Windows XX? and when prompted to login, you co not know the username and password? And, also, there is no administrator logon listed on the Welcome Screen, correct?
(assuming you're even using the welcome screen)

If so, reboot machine, the moment the machine leaves the BIOS screen and begins to boot windows, press <F8> a few times and choose "Boot In Safe Mode". When prompted for username and pass, choose Administrator, and pray someone did not put a password on that account.

Once in, right click on my computer and click on manage.

Find the local users and groups in the window that pops up, drill down to users.

Add a user named to your liking, and put a password on that username (or not)... just don't forget what the password is, if any at all.

{or, alternatively, CHANGE the password for one of the other familiar accounts that you see...}

make sure the created user is a member of the group "Administrators"

close the programs you have opened, and reboot.

Log in using the username and password (if any) that you have just created.

If there is a password on the administrator account, you will have to download some software from <a shady site> that will reset the admin (or any other acct) to your liking.

ps. Once you're logged into the machine under an account with admin privileges, you may then change the other user account's passwords at will...
