Started a week ago when my wife went to new jersey the engine lighty blinked a few times today the light stays on what would do this and can antbody give me your input THANKS GREGORY MEDWIG SAINT JAMES NY
You can take your vehicle to most of your local auto parts stores. The will scan your vehicle and be able to pull a diagnostic trouble code(s) (DTC) for you and they do it for free in most places. The DTC will lead you into the direction of what the problem may be. I wouldn't suggest purchasing parts from them because they will try to tell you what the problem is and what part is bad but the DTC needs to be fully diagnosed in order to figure the problem out before you buy parts. This is where they make thier money. I have been in this business for 25 plus years and you need to fully diagnose before you start purchasing parts because some DTC's can be tricky. Once you get that DTC(s) you can ask on here to help diagnose or feel free to email me directly at [email protected] with the DTC's and I will be happy to help you diagnose the problem. DTC's come with testing procedures which I will be happy to help you with if you are mechanically inclinde. When you said the light "lightly blinked", if you are talking more of a flashing on and off while driving, this in most cases indicate a misfire which could be a bad coil, injector or a number of things. Most misfire codes are in the three hundreds. You will get a DTC of something like P0300, P0301, P0302 and so forth if this is the case. Start with getting the DTC(s) and we can t6ake it from there.
