Turn tv on and no picture onloy sound and then turns off then turns back on

Tv has no picture or sound; will go out while watching. The picture will go into a line and sound and picture will go out; shortly after that tv will turn off. Picture goes out - but has sound

i have had this problem on one of my tv s all i did was remove the back of the tv and re-solder all the joints around the tuner (thats where the arieal goes) they go with time because the joints there get so hot . hope this helps

TruTech 19" LCD TV+DVD

I have a sansui 19" LCD TV+DVD
I had to attempt multiple times turning the TV on to get a picture. The sound was fine. This kept happening when I would go to turn on the set the TV kept playing fine with picture & sound but after the 2nd attemts I turned it off & then tried to turn it back on which took multiple attempts, it kept playing for a few minutes then the picture went out but the sound was still there.
The set is not yet 2 years old.

Video Playback Sound but no picture

Sounds like the recording and playback heads are dirty. When was the last time you cleaned the heads? If you haven't, buy a Video cleaning kit which are cheap these days and run it through a couple of times. See if that clears it up.
