When I was cleaning the oven door water has fallen down between front of oven and glass door, which when I shut I can see a soapy water make. How can i get rid of this?

Tools needed: Phillips head screwdriver or small quad bit driver.


CAUTION: Edges of door may pose a cut hazard, use gloves or heavy cloth when grabbing edges.


A. Refer to owners guide for instructions on how to remove oven door.


B. With door in broil stop position lift door assembly off hinges.


C. Lay door on table, position so that handle hangs freely over edge of table


D. Remove 2 screws and washers that secure handle to lining assembly.


E. Remove 8 screws that attach textured steel door wrapper trim to lining assembly 3 at top, 3 at bottom, 1 on each side


F. Lift door lining up and out of wrapper trim assembly.


G. Lay lining assembly on table with wool shield/inner part of lining facing up.


H. Remove 2 glass clamps via 2 screws per clamp. These clamps attach innermost clear glass to wool shield.


I. Lift out center clear glass from wool shield, this glass just lays onto the wool shield and is held in place by the glass/ clamps in item H.


J. Clean each glass with appropriate cleaner, Windex, bon ami, fantastic, etc


K. One glass that remains in door lining assembly can at this time be cleaned without further disassembly the lining assembly.


L. Reassemble in reverse order.

IF you can locate the model number tag (bottom left of door opening) you can look up the manual at www.geappliances.com
The only button on your stove that should make the door lock would be the clean button (self clean model) if that is pressed simply hit the clear/off or cancel key and wait for the door to unlock. You should be able to repair your existing door. Have a look around the perimeter of the door to see if there are any screws, particularly near the handle. You are looking to take the front fascia off the door, so that you can access the inside. Most doors have the front fascia held on by small brackets glued to the back of the glass that clip on to a fixing on the internal door. The top of the fascia is normally held in place by the handle. Once you have the front of the door off you can retrieve the piece of glass that has fallen out. You will almost certainly find that the glass has come away from the adhesive that was used to hold it in place. You will need to clean up the glass and the metal door and re-stick the glass using a high temperature oven door glue

It will not be tape as this could catch fire, it is a very high melting point sealant that is used to secure the glass in place.

1. Oven door : Wash the door and window with soap and water and rinse with clear water. Use glass cleaner only if sprayed on a cloth first. Do not use abrasive pads, powdered cleaners, or steel wool on glass and enamel, or the surfaces will be scratched.
2. surface burner : To absorb a spill when it is hot, pour salt on it and wipe it up when the oven has cooled. A mildly abrasive baking soda and water paste can be used in the oven, too.
3. Racks:Remove oven racks and clean them in warm, soapy water. Stubborn messes can be cleaned by using mild abrasive cleansers or a soap filled scouring pad. Rinse and dry the racks before returning them to the oven.
4. Metal trim:Metal trim can be cleaned with glass cleaners or mild cleansers, soap and water. Abrasives or cleaners made for oven interiors should not be used.

I have a Kenmore oven and all I had to do was remove the screw at each end of the handle (accessed with the door open) and the very front section just opened up - SIMPLE!! Wiped it down put the screws back in. Did it all by myself - just have your cleaning cloth in reach before you start. Can't believe I looked at those drips for years and it was that simple!!!

LOOK WHERE THE HINGE METS THE OVEN DOOR FACING..you will see on the hinge a tab with the door open pull these forward this will lock the hinges do this on both sides then closed the door slightly and lift up the door will come off then you can unscrew the bottom scres to access glass
