Remove bottom panel, you'll see the element connections in the corner of the base. Unplug the connectors and unscrew the 8mm nut securing the earth wire to the element. Pull the 2 rubber insulation cones that cover the terminals, unscrew the retraining nut to the element and remove the "E" shaped spacer from between the terminals. The element will then pop out of the two holding bracket from inside the machine and remove. To replace - just reverse the procedure.

How does indesit idl530 dishwasher heat the water. Does it have 2 elements? My dishwasher is not drying, but heating the water during washing cycles??
If this has a heater fitted outside the tank(not an l shaped one inside)then you will need to access it fro under the base panel it is connected between the upper arm feed pipe and the pump,it is secured with 2 jubilee type connections

I fixed it myself in the end, the drain hose had a split in it and needed replacing. The problem I had was getting to the drain hose, as it is attached internally to the pump in the bottom of the dishwasher.
Here`s how to get to it:
First, remove the two screws from the back of the dishwasher on the bottom plate, there should be one on the far left and one on the far right.
Put a towel on the floor to soak up any excess water and tip the machine onto its back, so the door is pointing upwards.
At the bottom of the dishwasher you will see two more screws holding the plate on.
Remove these and carefully detach the plate.
You will notice a microswitch on the inside of the plate that has an orange and white wire connected to it.
Make a note of which way round the wires go, as the connector can be put on either way. Remove the connector from the micro switch and then completely remove the plate.
You will see the drain hose attached to the pump with a brass butterfly clip. You will need pliers to open the clip and slide it off the hose where it connects to the pump.
Once you have done this, you need to remove the white plastic clip that goes round the drain hose at the point where it exits the washer.
This clip slides up and away from yourself ( when facing the dishwasher on its back ), then it splits open and comes off.
This should allow you to remove the drain pipe.
Once that is off , its a simple case of getting a replacement pipe and fitting it. ( Follow instructions in reverse )
A word of warning though - I hunted high and low for a replacement and ended up ordering the wrong one from Partmaster.
The pipe MUST have a 90 degree bend in one end, if you search partmaster for Indesit IDL500 drain hose you will see one for £7.99.
You must get this one, as I made the mistake of ordering what I thought was a cheaper alternative ( £4.99 ), The cheaper one also had the 90 degree bend, BUT the end was too small.
Compare the images of the two and you will see that the more expensive one has a larger end at the 90 degree section.
Hope this helps.
