I have a Fisher and Paykel Smart Drive 708. I filled it up with water and then pressed pause while I went to get clothes. When I tried starting it again it would not start. The lights are on, there is water in machine, but does not wash. Could you please help?
You need to check your lid switch & out of balance switch for
corrosion and replace if faulty.
Your out of balance switch is under the big yellow motor controller
OOB switch Is where the grey plate is on this picture.

SOURCE: Fisher and paykel smart drive... Water does not go in
check the reed switch under the lid (magnet) and the cold water may be just a cold valve they get slow flow common problem
SOURCE: fisher & paykel slow to fill?
if its the cold water (most common) replace the valve remove the two screws on the top of the control panel then you will see the valve i think its the right one looking from the front.its an easy job .hope this helps.

OK Problem located (without Diagnostics) , the problem was a faulty START/PAUSE button. I took the display board apart and fiddled with the button (whilst the power was UNPLUGGED) Starts almost every time, when it does`nt fiddle some more.
SOURCE: Washing Machine Wont Fill and cycles unresponsive, Help :/
My comment is generic to all washing machines in which there is a fill problem. Finally I remembered that when we did an upgrade on our basement I installed the type of fill hose that will prevent flooding. Sure enough, when I interchanged the hoses the problem switched from no hot to no cold. A flood prevention mechanism had malfunctioned on one hose and the reset feature did not work. A return to Home Depot will complete the solution to my problem - but I feel humbled to have overlooked the possibility that this simple malfunction had caused the grief.
