Water continuously running to fridge, overflowing?

I've had to shut off the water line to my refrigerator, because it was running without stopping, and coming out under the fridge - my kitchen is flooded!  The ice maker appeared normal, everything looked fine inside, nothing leaking down the backside.  It's a KitchenAid Superba manufactured 11/00.  Model # KSRS25FGBL04, Ser. SK4530173.  A few years ago, the vents got clogged with dirt and pet hair - could use another cleaning now, once I get the water dried up.  Could that be related?  Thanks.

Hi, if the only way you could stop the water was to turn it off at the water source, you need to change the water inlet valve. Make sure you check the water fill line for any leaks before you change the valve.
If I canassist you in getting the vavle, please let me know.

Thanks
Vic

Drain pan in whirlpool side by side refrigerator fills and overflows

do you have water hooked up to the machine?if so check the plastic lines that go to the water valve,i couldn't figure out why there was so much water in pan,all it is is when the fridge defrosts the heater comes on in freezer and melts the ice off of the evaporator coil and the water goes through the drain tube down near compressor to evaporate,i kept looking and stuck my hand in and there was a fine spray of water coming from a pinhole in one of the water lines, the owner never vacuumed
out the coil,so the machine was running hotter than normal, you can try shutting off the water valve that feeds the fridge and see if it stops overfilling,if it does you could have a hole in one of the lines,if there isn't any water hooked up to the fridge check the condenser coil to see if it's clogged with dust, this is how the heat escapes from the machine and the heat is what evaporates the water in the pan, also check the door gaskets,if they're torn or not sealing good warm air will get into the freezer causing ice buildup from warm and cold air mixing and forming ice, like i said the water that goes into the pan is from when the fridge goes into defrost, there's either more ice that's forming from an air leak or water is leaking from the filter line or one of the water lines.good luck with the detective work

Hi. We moved to a house with an integrated Teka A-FC1359 Fridge/Freezer. It was working fine. We switched it off 3 months ago. Now we've swithched it back on but it's not working.

It can be issue with faulty compressor capacitor. From main power outlet the power goes to capacitor beside compressor and from there power goes to compressor motor, then after that all unit works.May be that capacitor got shorted or loose from its actual connection.Or other possibility is faulty power wire of refrigerator.Get the wire checked with continuity tester to confirm its not broken in between.

The refrigerator water dispenser started running without pushing the device. It won't stop unless the freezer door is open. We were just sitting in the family room and all of a sudden the dispenser...

Pull the fridge out and look behind it. You're looking for the water line that could possibly have valve shutoff. If not, follow the line back to the source. Could be tapped under the sink, could go anywhere. You are attempting to shut off water to the fridge without shutting water off to entire home. Worst case scenario is if you can't locate the fridge shutoff and you can't get it fixed today and you don't want to leave the freezer door open, locate the main water shutoff for the house and shut it off over night. Hope this helps.

The fridge keeps leaking water underneath, the freezer part keeps iceing up down the bottom under the draws, the water is the main problem.

Water in the drain overflowing can be the reason for the water spilling,it can be the defrost overflow or the leak from the evaporator tubing's to the drain. So drain off and check perhaps more condensation is the result of the overflow.
The icing can be related to water formation from the food or leak from the evaporator, high frosting can blow the water inside the freezer.
So set the freezer temp a little lower so that the freezer shuts off than to make it run continuously.

Ice machine will not stop filling with water...overflows

This sounds like a stuck water valve. Un-plug the fridge and see if the water stops flowing to the ice maker. If it stops, it's a control board (if equipped) or ice maker issue.

If not, turn the water off to the fridge, pull the fridge away from the wall, get behind it and trace the water line (small, plastic line) from the back of the fridge going down to the water valve. Remove the cover, and you may need to remove the water solenoid (the water valve) and see what happened.
