SOURCE: Need help with epson pos

its not the relephone plug the 24 v wires sound about right i believe the telephone plug would be for credit/debit card sales via a built in modem and magnetic card reader hook up the wires first by stripping them back and electrical taping them together put drawer in and plug it in should work if not switch wires try again once it works either solder or use a **** conector or wire nut and tape to ensure it doesnt ground out

How to connect to the computer?

Devices: Canon CanoScan FB330P/FB630P Color Flatbed Scanners

Check pages 22-23 of this copy of your Canon Canoscan 630P Product Guide.

You'll need an "IBM-type" parallel printer cable - with a DB25 on each end, and your computer will also need to have an "IBM-type" DB-25 parallel printer port.

What the Canon Product Guide fails to mention is that this "IBM-type" printer cable is a kluged Centronics parallel printer cable, but became so popular (on older computers - your laptop may not have this port), that it got an IEEE standard: IEEE 1284 (with DB25 connectors on both ends).

You'll need a DB25-to-DB25 M/F cable, meaning DB25 connectors on both ends, with a Male on one end, and a Female on the other end.
The Male DB25 will plug into the Female DB25 connector on your computer/laptop, with the Female DB25 going to the FB630P Color scanner..
Here are some pictures/pricing:
http://www.computercablestore.com/IEEE_1284_Printer_DB25_to_DB25_catID2134.aspx

The nice thing about the design of the Canon FB630P Color Scanner is that the scanner also has a Female DB25 Printer port for an existing parallel printer, so when you connect an FB330P/FB630P to your system, your existing parallel printer is daisy-chained through this port - so you needn't give up you printer (to scan), nor must you install another parallel printer port onto your PCI-bus tower PC to keep your printer.

Canon Canoscan FB330P/FB630P Color Scanner Product Guide (82 pages):

Most modern printers are USB-attached to laptop systems, so you may need an adapter, an example of which is seen here:

I need a converter that will allow me to hook up the rj12 cables to the coaxial connections on a 16 channel revo dvr

hi;
you wan to hook up coaxial to rj12 ,if you you do that the wire of rj12 has not to exceed 3 meters
cause camera signal (video) to become weak. Camera Video signal has to be fed only to coaxial cable, coaxial cable has an insulation to prevent interference.
so if you want to hook up be sure put a shielded wire.
thanks......hope this help.

I have reinstalled an Epson TM-T88II in a POS system that does not have a parallel connector. There is a D-Link fast ethernet print server model DP-301P+ connected to the parallel port of the printer. An...

The cash drawer is loking for a signal from the printer to fire the drawer. It is usually on one of the pins of the cable comming from the printer. You will probably have to contact the cash drawer manufacture for that information.

You can contact Southeast Digital Networks, Inc. for more info.

I can't get my cash drawer to work is there a secret. I have enabled the cash drawer in digital dining but it won't open

You must be sure the voltage to the cash drawer and the printer are correct. A 24 volt RJ12 printre connection to the solenoid of a 12 volt cash drawer will cause damage. If the drawer was working and stopped, it is possible the solenoid may be the problem.

I need to delay data input through a RJ11 to serial input on start up of computer. Any Ideas? The data is a continious feed of weather data from my Peet Brothers weather station that goes to the internet....

If you have electronic knowledge you can construct a delay switch using a 555 timer IC to control a relay that connects the data line after a short time delay to the computer after the computer boots up.

My adapter DB9 FEMALE TO DB25 FEMALE doesnt allow me to see my Printer

Are you tring to run a parallel printer from a serial port? If so then it will not work at all. You would need a serial to prallel adaptor that also has the software drivers needed to convert the signal.

Connections

What the two do is give the audio, you need a 'Y' phono (2 female to male connector adapter) and a female- female adapter to suit your speaker connector and the male end on the adapter so that you can plug in your two cables and the plug in the outlet your pc speakers plug, it will cost about £5 or $10 wherever you are. I have done it and its worth it for the picture quality. see below http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=phono%20adaptors&source=15&SD=Y
