Synergy v universal remote code for Motorola cable box

This may not be a definite answer, but it may provide a hint what codes to try. Although the standard Cox cable box code for my Philips universal remote, 4200, worked for the 9865HDC, the standard code for my GE 24959, 0529, did not. Since Cisco acquired the Motorola cable box division a few years ago I tried all of those codes, but none worked. Then I noticed a single code 0506 for DVR under Motorola. It worked like a charm, even the dedicated DVR List button on the GE 24959. Hopefully you can find a Motorola DVR code for your universal remote.

A Synergy V Universal Remote which is supplied by some cable companies like Time Warner, RCN etc. You can also buy this remote. This remote does a good job of controlling all my different components including my LG TV, Bose Sound and Cable Box.
This pdf seems to be best reference. but there a several others out there if you google for Synergy V.

I don't have any combo units but there seems to be references to these types of devices so you may have some luck with this device which is one of the least expensive universal remote control devices that I've come across.

I've found that you can use a Synergy V Universal Remote which is supplied by some cable companies like Time Warner, RCN etc. You can also buy this remote. Code 576 worked on this remote. I can power up and down, rewind, FF, and I can launch Netflix etc usinf the ABCD keys. You can't control everything but this remote does a good job of controlling all my different components including my LG TV, Bose Sound and Cable Box.

I happen to be a Jumbo Universal remote Expert here at Fixya, so I hope I can help. It is possible that this remote just won't run your Motorola cable box, but I wouldn't give up until I had tried the codes from the list in the manual, as well as run through the auto-setup feature of the remote for CBL and for SAT, where it just tries all the cable box codes one at a time.

I was able to find a working motorola codes for an Innovage Jumbo Remote, a three digit code remote you might as well try: 051.

You have probably tried the codes for Motorola (031) and GI (000, 032) from the manual using these steps:

1. Turn on the device with which you want to use the remote control.
2. Locate a 3-digit code for your device. (000, 031 & 032 for example)
3. Press and hold the corresponding button on the remote control
(CBL) for approximately three seconds. The POWER INDICATOR illuminates.
4. Enter the 3-digit code for your device within 30 seconds. The POWER INDICATOR shuts off.
5. Press the ON /OFF button to verify correct code entry. If the device shuts off, the code was entered correctly. If the device does not shut off, repeat steps 3-4, using a different code located on the Code List.

If those are still a bust, try the GI SAT codes 018 & 019.

Have you tried the following steps with both CBL and then SAT to search it's database?

1. Turn on the device with which you want to use the remote control.
2. Press and hold the corresponding button on the remote control
(SAT or CBL) until the POWER INDICATOR on the remote control illuminates. The remote control is in programming mode.
3. Press and release ON /OFF. The POWER INDICATOR on the remote control flashes once and stays on indicating the unit is in Power Scan mode.
4. Press CHANNEL UP or CHANNEL DOWN repeatedly until the device turns off.
5. When the device turns off, press any key to store the code.
6. Press any other button. If the device responds, the remote control has been programmed. If the device does not respond, repeat steps 2-5.

Sylvania TVs are made by Funai Corp. You should try any Funai codes that are listed for the Synergy V remote. Alternatively, you can try the code search method, point and search. I found the codes for Funai to be 047 048 157 168 211 .

(For my TV, the search all codes is often better for universal remotes. The brand name codes listed didn't work; searching all codes found an exact match for all the features that I use.)

I have a Motorola cable box and used code # 051. Works great. Can't find a code for DIGISTAR tv though. If anyone has one, shoot it to me at [email protected].
