If you replace screws make sure they have vibra-tite or other thread lock to keep from vibrating loose.

HOW TO TAKE MUFFLER OFF POULAN PRO CHAINSAW 42CC

Not sure what model this is so this is just a general description, the muffler will be held on with two short screws, these may have an allen key head, or a torx, there may be a plate on the front of the muffler covering these screw which will need to be remove to acess the screws, they will be normal r/h thread, there will be a gasket or an aluminum deflector plate behind the muffler once removed, there may also be a mesh spark arrestor under the front plate of the muffler.

Craftsman bushwhacked hedge trimmer model 358795720. Can't get the cover of to replace the muffler

To get to the muffler, the carburetor will have to come off of the machine. Take the air filter cover off and remove the air filter. You will see 2 screws in the base of the filter cover. Take those screws out and this will allow the carburetor to drop off of the engine. You can just let the carburetor hang from the hoses and cable for the time being.

On top of the engine you will see 4 screws; remove them. On the front of the engine (below the spark plug) there is a screw that must be removed. Also, the spark plug will need to come out. The engine shroud should not lift off the engine. Around where the 4 screws come through the shroud, there is an "o" ring, make sure to not lose it.

You should now be able to access the muffler to remove the old one and put the new one in place. Once it's in place, put the "O" ring back and seat the engine shroud. Then put all the screws back in place. Then attach the carburetor back to the side of the engine.

Muffler falls off while running

If this is the Husqvarna 350, then there was an issue with the muffler coming loose, there was a retro fit muffler with a third fixing screw available, if the muffler comes loose there is a chance that it will melt the tank underneath, so you need to address this problem.

Need to replace the muffler on my husky 272

It should be easy enough, there are two 6mm allen screws sunk down into the muffler holding it to the cylinder, the front support is held with two allen screws into the muffler itself, there is then a screw in the front of the oil tank, and a long screw from the r/h side that also secures the felling spike.

NEED TO REPLACE SPARK ARRESTER ON HOMELITE LITE 26CC STRING TRIMMER

Remove the Torx screws holding the rear cover on. Then remove the larger Torx screws holding the muffler on to the exhaust port of the cylinder. There will be a gasket there. The spark arrestor will be mounted in the opening to the muffler. You can scrape or burn the carbon off of it. If the spark arrestor is real clogged up, then the muffler probably is too. It should also be cleaned. The inside of the engine probably is carboned up too( if arrestor and muffler are). They all should be cleaned of carbon. It helps the engine perform at its' best and breathe like it needs to.

How to replace air filter on Troy-bilt TB20CS?

May be air filter but sounds more like your muffler is stopped up. First take the muffler off and see if it runs better without it. If so, burn the carbon out of the muffler and clean the muffler port on the engine. If not, then remove the four screw at the very end and disassemble. The ait filter is in that area. Click on parts lookup in left hand column.

Engine will only run on 1/2 Choke

Hello edv40026:

Have you Checked the Exhaust Port and Muffler for Restriction?
From your Description it Sounds like the Exhaust Port or Muffler is Restricted with Carbon Deposits, the Carburetor Metering Pump Actuator Gap is Incorrect or the Compression is Low (Worn Rings/Cylinder).
>>The Following is a Basic Instruction File for Doing a Diagnostic on the Engine for this Problem. Any Input is Appreciated.
>>**Remove the Muffler and Make Sure the Exhaust Port is Clear.
>>If it is, then Try to Start the engine with the Muffler Off.
>>If it Starts and Runs Properly, then Clean the Spark Arrestor Screen in the Muffler or Replace the Muffler if Required.

Is the Fuel Line from the Fuel Filter Staying Full of Fuel?
The Carburetor Metering Jet Actuator is Set so the Pump Diaphram Dowl is Just Touching the Actuator Arm. These Components are Located Under the Cover with 4 Small Screws Holdong it to the Carburetor Body.
Please, Do Not Hesitate, If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem, I am Here if You Require More Assistance.
Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Be Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck
