Take one memory stick out and test. Then do the other. Also checking each memory slot.
If not solved. When the computer starts, continually press F8 until you get startup menu- select SAFE MODE and fix the driver or software that is in startup
or
Roll back to last known configuration that worked.
While you are there- disable Auto Reboot on Failure.
Hi,
In Windows XP you can open My Computer from the Start menu. To open My Computer, click on the Start button, then click on "My Computer" link as shown in the attached image.
To save the "My Computer" icon on the Desktop, right-click on "My Computer" Link in the Start Menu, and click on "Show on the Desktop" link.
Hope this solves your problem. For more help and clarifications, please reply to this post. Thanks
Usually the firewall settings are found in Control Panel on your computer. If you are running Windows XP, click on the Start button and select "Control Panel" from the right side of the menu. Select "Windows Firewall" (or if you are in Category view, "Security Center" then "Windows Firewall"). Under the "Exceptions" tab, if Yahoo! Messenger is not already in the list, click "Add Program", then select from the list shown. If Y! isn't shown, click "Browse", then select Y! (usually can be found under C:\Program Files\Yahoo!).
You want XP to look like when you first got it and not in classic mode, am I correct? If that is the case, do the following:
Right click on your desktop and select Properties
Go to Themes tab and select Windows XP and press Enter
That should bring you back your screen. If that did not help, then do the following:
Right click on my computer and select Properties
Click the Advanced tab
Select Visual Effects tab
Chose either Adjust for best appearance or you can let Windows decide what's best for your system.
Finally, if that does not work go into Control Panel --> select Administrative Tools --> Services. Look for Themes in Services to make sure that is is both set to Automatic and that the services is started.
