Dishwasher repair - Bosch

My Bosch dishwasher, SHU6906 is depositing grit on all the dishes on the top rack. This seems to be independent of how dirty anything was when the load started. My dishes are clean of food and food stains but covered in grit that seems to be baked on. The filter is clean and properly seated and the rinse agent is full. I've tried multiple detergents - help!

Can you remove the upper spray arm (is yours under the upper rack?)-mine unscrews and then you have to wiggle it off. Run faucet water into the arm; sometimes little bits of crud get stuck in the holes that spray the water out, and this prevents a complete rinse. I just had to clear these holes myself due to same problem (I might have a different machine, though). You can do the same for the lower arm.

Wy is top rack not washing

top rack is for small plates & cups not pots & pans as they may obstruct the rotating of the sprayer & foul the water from getting to all the items

Dishwasher deposits dirt on dishes. Grit, small particles.

I have the same problem. We cleaned the dishwasher out because the grit was coming from the dishwasher...however, we still have dirt/grit in our dishes, but a lot less. How do we get rid of this all together?

Dishes in the bottom rack staying dirty

Take off the arm and poke the blockages back into the jets then shake them out of the central pivot hole.
Remember, the drive jets (Which are at the end and make the arm turn) are the most important to keep clean.

The dishes are not being cleaned.

clean the arms of any food debris, then if this doesn't solve the problem, replace the water channel conduit that runs up the wall of the inside of the dishwasher, after years of water pressure it will erode the fitting on the wall and rack and when the drawer rack is pushed in to wash, water will get past the o-ring on the conduit and you will lose water pressure and the arm will not function properly, replace it from the sump to the top,its not that expensive and it will assure full pressure

Maytag dishwasher quiet series 400. Dishes have hard stuck on grit and food particles after rinsed and dried.

Very common problem is soap build up in these machines. Try putting it into a wash cycle with no dishes, and no soap. Let it wash for about 5 minutes, and then open the door. If you see alot of soap suds, then soap build up is the problem. Try doing a couple loads with no soap, and no dishes, and throw a cup of vinegar into the machine halfway through the wash. Repeat as necessary. This should solve your problem.
