Restore back to factory setting

I have a Emachine T5082 with windows Vista. . I tried to restore the computer back to factory setting. It will not read my re-install cd. I have no other form of back up disk. I was told by emachine support to just reinstall the windows and it would take back to original setting. But all that did was fill my C drive. How do I manually restore factory setting with out the Disk.

When you boot with cd in repair option it will not restore. It said to put a back up disk in. and click next. My disk will not work. It would not read the other Vista disk I have..

Im trying to get my pc to go to its original settings factort restore

The only way to restore your computer to factory setting with all the software/bloatware as it came with your computer the first day you start it up, you will need the factory restore disk that came with the computer if one is provide, if not usually with e-machine product, which doesn't provide you with a factory restore disk, you will have to create one yourself using a dvd-r. Usually you will have to go the the emachine recovery/back up management option in your menu programs and use that program to make the factory restore disk, after making that disc, you will need to insert the disc, and shuit down the computer and restart it. It will prompt you to follow direction once the factory restore disk is boot up. Follow the directions and you should be good to go. If there isn't a recovery managment program or a factory restore disk provided, you will need to contact emachine up.... usually they can send you factory restore disk for a small fee.

How can i perform a factory restore on my emachine w3619 without my start up disk..my computer will not load my sims 3 game and it used to be able to i tried everything (including system restore) to fix it

ask emachines for duplicate dvds of your startup disks.
your os is Genuine Windows Vista® Home Basic
any copy of that would work, but you wouldn't have the cyberlink or other software

before doing that
you may first try checking for viruses or startup programs
and then reinstalling any game software

maybe your sims is broken. verify that it works on another machine

Restore emachine W1136 desktop to factory settings without disc

I guess you can try it again to make it not able to start up such as to rename some important windows file. Always a good option to backup first.

You can chat with emachine tech on the following page.
http://emachines.com/support/answers.html

They might be glad to help. Someone might be always a little bit more courteous than others. You can reward them a most satisfactory feedback anyways.

Someone tried the Alt+F10 to get that restore option, I guess it might work with your emachine too. You might like to try it while starting up the system too.

Something to try if you didn't.
(1) Go to start menu
(2) Click on all programs
(3) click on Emachine
(4) click on Emachine recovery management
(5) Click on restore on the bar across the top
(6) click on restore to system factory default

Did you try the number key while starting up or the R key or maybe with the Alt key? Hope that help.

I have a t5082 emachine desktop and i want to dump it back to its original default settings

For that you need recovery disk or winxp or vista bootable disk.
Then boot your computer with disk.
When you power up the computer press F1 or F2 or "del" key to enter in bios. Then go to boot menu then set first boot device as your cd / dvd rom.
Then save and exit .
Then it boot with disk.
Then follow the procedure and if you want previos windows then choose "r" option for repair.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Thanks.

My husband has an e machines and has been having problems deleting certain programs and all he wants to do is restore to factory settings but he doesn't have the discs needed to do this...is there any way...

to do a system restore you would need the disks. possibly you could restore some settings but not a full restore. if it has xp and he has system restore enabled he might back up till a time the problems werent there.you would have had to have had the system restore activated befor the trouble started and it may still ahve problems there.some pc's have a backup on the hd you might try emachine support and see if this is the case here. i have fixed a few emachines just not that experienced their os.

Problems with used Emachine W3623 Windows vista Home basic

Simply put, No.

Chances are the performance of vista on an eMachine is an ugly sight anyway. My advise would be to downgrade to XP or try a good solid Linux distribution like Ubuntu. It will preform faster and be more stable that it ever was with Vista. Don't get me wrong I am not a total vista hater but it is a hog.

Best of Luck
