Too much soap generally causes it to change time. Soap causes motor overload. The control detect over amping and declares a suds error. All machines have this built in though many do not display the error. Items between baskets can also trigger this.
sounds like th bracket on the back of the basket has broken. just replaced mine and itwas abit ofa bear. teardown is all from the back and itis almost a complete teardown, remove back panel and top, remove struts on the lower drum assembly, remoive drive belt. the large drum assembly has a bunch of screws tht holdit together(heads aretoward the front of the waser) remove all of the lower screws, removeth springs from the top of the drum ssemblyand remove he srings. take out thescrews fron th top halfof the drum assembly. the back half should now comeout. remove the bolt holding te drive pully onto the drum assembly then th plastic drum assemblycan b removed from thebassket. the back of the basket has a bracket on it I bet itis broken. this is a 200 dolar part, (basket) and replacementis the reversal ofremoval. it is a difficult and somewhat time consuming repair butit was well worth it for me
Hhi, It could be the basket brackets have jump over the shipping bracket and will not let the basket center it self.
There are 2 clips in the gap between the top and thefront panels. use a flat blade and push in on the clips releasing the front panel. It will lift off. The bracket I mentioned is located under the motor. There are 2 brackets and they have holes in them. If the basket is lodged against these 2 brackets, just bend them down toward the bottom to get htem out of the way. They serve no purpose. While you have the front off, the basket hangs on each corner. Make sure eash corner is still attatches to the hangers.
I hope this helps you.
Please let me know if I can assist you further.
Without more info I will recommend using flat washers over the holes wher the screws broke away. The holes in the flat washers must match the diameter of the screws but the flat washers must be big enough to cover the holes in the brackets. If the brackets themselves are broken you might try getting some pipe hanging material from the hardware. It comes in strip form usually copper with holes prepunched in the strips. You will also probably need bigger bolts and nuts so the heads don't pull through the holes. Please let me know if this helps.
The metal basket (inner basket) has a broken spider (these are the support brackets that hold the basket to the bearing shaft). The inner basket will need to be replaced and the front and rear shell of the drum may also need to be replaced depending if any other damage has been done. It's a big job, about 2 hours for a good tech.
You will need to replace the inner basket and front outer tub assembly. Likely, the spider on the inner basket (drum bracket) has broken which is causing it to be loose and rubbing on the inside of the outer tub. This can be verified by checking for excessive play of the inner basket (hold the front of the inner basket and check for play by moving it up and down). It's not a cheap repair unfortunately. Be sure to always use a small amount (2 tablespoons for a full load) of HE (high efficiency) detergent to prevent future build up which could cause corrosion of the tub spider.
yes this is a common problem however there is a way to slow the process way down start by using only HE soap every major company makes it use approximately 2-3 tablespoons of HE soap once a month run an empty hot load with if you want some bleach or white vinegar. You can also get a cleaner called washer magic this is really good stuff. the hot load once a month will help to get rid of any extra soap that would be in the washer
