My toshiba 62hm15b tv screen is getting darker

Sounds like horizonal output transistor could be over heating. There could be other problems. But I would start there. You can find the part number on the schematic inside the set. If you change it yourself don't forget to use the included insulater. Part should cost between 15 & 20 dollars. You will need make & model # of set at electronic parts store.

My Toshiba 27" tv has the exact same problem any solutions out there or is it time to toss the tv?

It sounds like your lamp is getting close to the end of its lifespan.The lamp is what gives your screen its brightness.With time they start losing this brightness.If you were to wait to replace it till it goes out completely you would have a black screen.You can purchase a quality lamp at discount-merchant.com

yeah, opened the front flap of the TV>menu> brightness> increase. Sorted. No problem.

ain't gonna bother asking any more questions on this forum..........no help at all .

This problem can be fixed easily. contact any TV servicing store nearby. This problem can be due to loose connection in the PCB or can be a picture tube problem or a problem with iconoscope. cost depends upon the part which is to be serviced

this is a light engine problem and it is a recall for toshiba. Call them and they need to give u a new light engine.....even though u will have other problems after they do that.
