Is it worth fixing? how much does it cost for this repair? can i do it myself?

would it be the same issue for the kdf-e55a20 tv? I turn mine on and i see the picture, I can even change the channel real quick then the screen turns off and the power light blinks 4 times, pauses and then continues to blink 4 more times. it jus keeps blinking and pausing. whats the deal?

The KDF-e55a20 is a projector-type TV. Check the lamps and your power supply voltages, SONY has ther .PDF manual online

This is a problem on the primary power supply board. Cost is around $300 for parts, plus installation

replaced the lamp on it too so could i have done something wrong there? i didnt just pop the lamp out of the front i took the whole back out i unplugged stuff but am pretty sure i got it all back in?

Sony KDF-42WE655 Won't power on. Red Power/Standby light blinks 5 times

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power led, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. Viewing it in "Mosaic" will make surf easy.

Are you putting the lamp cover back in place before trying to turn the set on? The 2 blink error is a temperature error you might want to check the thermal sensor, is your lamp door warped?

5 times red light blinks in Sony KDF-60WF655 shows problem with ballast supply that needs to be replaced.
If you are handy with electronics stuff repair and have service manual copy then can replace it.
Be Aware: electric shock risk is involve in TV repair.
Or contact local TV tech to fix it.

These sets have weak picture tubes, this may buy you some time. It is not worth changing the tubes in the set. The cost would be more then its worth. Try these adjustments until it completely dies. I have the same set.

6 blinking red lights on standby

I had this issue as well and was able to fix it. I had quotes from service technican from $400 to $600. But I was able to find the service bulletin at Agoraquest.com. There is a member there called Jehill who has all the information, however, the only way to private message him is to upgrade to premium membership which costs $12. Which honestly is well worth it, I was able to get the TV back in working condition in about 2 hours and saved $400 and a lot of pain.

36" Sony Trinitron blinking red 4 times-PLEASE HELP QUICK!

Sounds like a typical high-voltage failure. Could easily cost another $300 to have it fixed. If it is less than about 6 years old I'd say it was worth fixing. If you want to DIY, then pull all the electronics out (label all the connections) and send it all to either Module Exchange at 972-298-1212 or PTS Electronics 800-844-7871

Sony model # KDF-60xs955 with blinking red code

you have to check all voltages if bad or good! check the hot side section if have a voltage! maybe you have defective oscillation circuit in hotside.
