I have an Jenn.Air electic stove, and there'e a vent to the outside. How can I keep the cold air from coming in?

I put a tea towel over the vent surface, also a piece of bubble wrap does the trick if used as insulation, and both can be removed quickly to use the surface.

We have new house and have cold air coming from Jenn-air vent. What can be done to stop this? We had a Jenn-air in our previous home and did not have this trouble

Most stove vents have a diverter plate which prevents air from coming in. When the fan is turned on, this diverter is opened by the air flow and allows the air to flow through. It sounds like this plate is either stuck or was not installed when the ventilation duct was installed.

Cold air from outside enters the kitchen through the down draft vent.

its would be best to install a damper
whether auto matic
or manuely operated
this is a common problem for the down draft
ive seen some people install things similar
to dryer vent louvers,
but check you exhaust area and still if you can block direct draft
but dont block it so that it cannot exhaust properly

What's best tu glue my cooktop on my granite countertop?

I don't think I'd glue it down permenantly. I just had to replace the ceramic glass on mine (a JED 8430 ABD) after it cracked. Thankfully, it wasn't glued down so I could replace it pretty easily (ordered part directly from Jenn Air). But some sort of seal to keep food out from under the cooktop would be nice. I just wouldn't go permenant. The fact that you have to tape the down draft to the external vent should keep the cooktop in one place (plus its own weight).

Installing JED8230ADB Cooktop Grill with down-draft exhaust

I can't imagine directing the downdraft vent back up to a traditional hood type system. Why bother, just don't use the downdraft or get a cooktop without a down draft and save money.

In granite, yes for any cooktop as long as someone can cut the correct size hole. Cooktops must be installed so the top is just about flush with the countertop. They all come with a template for cutting the right size hole in the countertop.

Cold air draft

the only way is to block off/check the flapper., if your not going to use for the winter you can disconnect the vent from under the cabinet temporaily and close off there till you can gain access to check outside grill

Jenn air jed 8430 electric cooktop control switch for rear burner

The cook top is attached to the wood frame by brackets, just remove the screws and the electric connection, make sure the power is off from the main box, it's a 220 volt wiring and then just lift the top off. to remove the glass, look around the edges and you should see some small screws, just remove them and the glass should lift off.
