Compaq Presario V2000 battery

It sounds like the Battery is Dead or not charging. You might try a local pc shop and see if they have any laptop batteries for you laptop. Or have them test to see if the battery is charging.

first you check yo charger and also your battery. make sure to check if the battery is ok and buy the charger of the same kina as the original one. if problem still occur then change the battery.

This is probably either a bad power supply brick or a bad system board. Try to borrow a power brick from somebody else to see if this fixes the problem so you can isolate it as this is a much less expensive problem to fix.

If you have a travel charger, be sure to press the button on top to put it in charge mode.

nothing is wrong with ypur laptopmotherboard. i suggest you to use original charger. doublicate charger are not good for laptops .

Take out the battery and only have the ac adaptor hooked up to the laptop and then try to turn it on.

If that doesn't work, then the motherboard is faulty. Probably a short in the motherboard but the whole thing would need to be replaced.

Also make sure your using the correct adaptor as well.

It has happened to me as well since i have the exact same model laptop. The problem is a loose cable or the wire inside is damaged. I just bought a new charger since buying one is cheaper than taking the risks that the repair might cause a short after using it for some time.

I also have a v2000 which has suffered the fate in the passed, unfortunately as i'm sure you've already read you will probably require a replacement system board.

try rundown the battery 3 times if still not holding charge your battery is faulty you have to replace it.

use ebay, same thing but cheaper in prices... i got my presario v2000 ac power charger for 24.50 with shipping and handling.... took 3 days and it arrived unless u want to do overnight shipping which is like an extra 12 bucks which is good too... WELL WORTH IT EBAY IS THE PLACE... i think his name is "honestworks" or something like that buy it from him he has a one year warranty if any defects occur...

Hi, Take out the battery and plug in only the power adapter and see if it comes on. If it does then leave out the battery for about 15 minutes and then put it back in. Good luck!
