Right after the tv is powered on it starts clicking and then shuts down. The power button stays on until I unplug it.

Actually, this problem costed me only $5.00. If you can solder, all you have to do is replace the high voltage capacitors. I replaced the following caps:

C2409: 47uF 160V
C2561: 47uF 160V
C2414: 1000uF 16V
C2417: 1000uF 16V
C2410: 470uF 16V / 25V
C2422: 470uF 16V / 25V
C2473: 100uF 50V

It, worked for me.

Cheers!

IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE A POWER SUPPLY PROBLEM OR RELAY PROBLEM. BEING A 20 INCH SET IT IS NOT WORTH REPIRING. PARTS AND LABOR WILL BE OVER $100.

Philips Magnavox 32MT3305 keeps shutting off with relay clicking. The green power light stays on but the picture and sound go out right after the orange status bar goes away. If the channel up or down...

the relay is the safety protective device..sometimes a defective component or something. maybe an overloaded power supply might caused this problem..so before any thing could gets worst..the relay will shut the unit..

I hooked the ps3 to the philips tv. turned on the ps3, AV1 displays in the corner. Nothing else happens, I am expecting the ps3 logo

give this a try...

Leave the TV running, go over to your PS3 and turn it off.

Once its off, hold the power button down till you hear a beep, KEEP HOLDING THE POWER BUTTON till you hear a double beep. The PS3 will shut itself off.

Give the device a couple of seconds, then hit the power button one last time (just turn it on, you don't have to hold it).

If all went right, your baby is back up and running...

Philips tv wont turn on and makes a clicking noise when plugged into an outlet

It is that sound that gives it away, this is a typical switchmode Power Supply problem. Your unit has some sort of PSU fault, or a problem that is shutting down the Power Supply Unit, PSU. This happens so that no further damage, and possible fire will occur. The sound is it starting up, shutting down, over and over.
You need to take the unit to a reputable service centre/man and ask for a firm "Quote" for the work to be done.

I went turn on my tv the picture came on then off

Picture turned Yellow because the Blue CRT stopped working. Power turns off because the power supply is indicating a fault. you probably lost your HT (high tension [voltage]) power supply on the blue CRT (picture tube). Professional assistance is recommended. HT power supply CAN DELIVER A LETHAL SHOCK even when the set is unplugged.

My philips tv won't turn on.

Very unlikely to be the switch. With the power supply shutting down, the problem is probably in one of the circuits that is supplied by it. Unless you know what you are doing, leave it to a technican.

Brief power on then shuts off

It could be a component short or crack on the power supply board. Open the back of the TV and look for signs of defect. The power supply board is the brown one on the right with huge capacitors.
