Blackout half square brackets over words and toll bar.

I have Skype and Microsoft LofeCam VX-1000 loaded. On the pop-up page of skype on the left all the wording except for the word "Skpye" as well as tool bar are blacked out with a half square bracket. Unable to click on anything as everything blacked out and even if I left or right click to bring up another view it also is blacked out with the bracket as described above.
Any help would be appreciated as I have not found any way to get in touch with Skype Technical Support as they do not have an 800# listed in canada or USA.

Thanks for any help

Try reinstalling Skype.

I think this is not camera problem, but Skype's internal.

    Please try the following:

        Uninstall Skype.

Delete folder where you installed it (default is C:\Program Files\Skype).

Open Windows Explorer and type the following in the address bar on top of the window: C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data, where is your Windows user name.

        Hit Enter.

Delete folder Skype in the folder that you opened in previous step.

        Install Skype again.
I am asuming you are using Windows XP Professional. If not, please let me know.

What do you mean by "wireless"? You mean if you connect to the network with a wireless adapter?

Skype is very particular about webcams using the latest drivers. If you installed the software using a CD the chances are the software is out of date.

How to use Microsoft LifeCam VX-1000 Webcam with Skype

well once you have the microsoft webcam software installed..
that is the first step then to go to skype and in skype it will have you set up the video and audio upon first use...
iff you have already past first use.. then when you make a call with skype as long as the software is installed then skype will automatically detect this and use it as the default recording device and it searches also for microphones automatically...
so really not much for you to do, once the microsoft webcam is installed then skype setup takes care of the rest...
