anything i can do on my end?
Thanks
Well from my experiences, and I manage a wireless store, you have gotten the phone wet in someway. It could have been anything from just sitting in the sun or being in the bathroom when you take a shower. You may try putting the phone in a bag of white rice for 8 hours or so and that could make it come out of car kit.

you can try to do *22899 which will sometimes reset it to the last four of your phone number
if this does not work, take it to the verizon store and ask a rep to hook it up to the PST machine and get the code for you, please find a knowledgeable rep to do this
Enter "Menu" Select "Settings" Select "Security" Enter "Lock Code" - Will default to last 4 digits of phone number or "0000" unless changed. Select "Reset Defaults" Press "Ok"
I would suggest to check charger first by attaching it to another LG phone to make sure that charger is working or not. Check your phone with another similar working charger to confirm phone.
Dear customer,
To Remove “Car-kit” error there are few ways: What worked for me as suggested by chemist is using Calcium Chloride (CaCL2) as a drying agent since it pulls moisture out of the air, and according to Verizon, this car-kit error is caused by exposure to moisture. For the average person, you can find this in the form of “Prestone Driveway Heat Concentrated Ice Melter” (or other ice melter – check ingredients). 1) Pour about 1 cup or so of CaCL2 in a small Tupperware container. 2) Place a sheet of paper on top of the CaCL2 to protect the phone. 3) Place the phone on top of the paper so as not to allow phone to touch CaCL2 (this is important). 4) Place the lid tightly on the Tupperware container. 5) Allow to sit overnight.
In the morning, the “car-kit” error was gone! Yay! I could could hear my callers, they could hear me, and I could hear all my ringers.
Other suggestions that might work for you are.
Car Kit To remove errors from phone: #1) press soft key for menu #2) then press 0 #3) you'll have a service code prompt, type 000000 #4) then type 2 (it should be field tests) #5) then type 4 (clear errors) #6) choose yes for clear errors #7) press clear once # type 8 (FCC test) #9) type one (pcs) #10) type one again (set channel) (mine shows 426 I don't know if theres a different channel for each phone.) #11) press clear 3 times and the phone will reset.
FOR RESTTING Enter "Menu" Select "Settings" Select "Security" Enter "Lock Code" - Will default to last 4 digits of phone number or "0000" unless changed. Select "Reset Defaults" Press "Ok" Plz rate this solution.. thank you..
I had to go to the Alltel store and apparently my phone had gotten a little wet, somehow. I do not know how though. And because it somehow got wet the warranty was voided and I had to pay $50 (only 50 cause I had insurance) for them to give me a new one.
Have you have gotten the phone wet in some way or the other? Try blowing out the data port on the bottom of the phone with some kind of compressed air.
It is better for you to purchase a new mobile , most phones that have been wet most times even after service always give problems still......replacing parts will be to expensive.
This is an old post but in case anybody searches and finds it...The infamous "car kit" mode on LG phones is a problem I had. Your service provider will claim the phone got wet (they will look at indicators in the battery compartment and on the battery itself that turn blue in the presence of moisture. Trouble is, they will eventually turn blue just from humidity even if the phone wasn't given a bath). Search the web; there are one or two forum threads with many suggested solutions (such as resetting error codes in the service menu, scrubbing out the battery connector with a toothbrush, plugging/unplugging the actual car kit connector, etc.). None of these suggestions gave a permanent fix (YMMV) for me and I eventually bought a new phone.
