Brand New Ducane Furnace with Multiple Error Codes

I have a New Ducane High Efficiency Furnace - It will operate for about 20 minutes before shutting down with error code 3, which indicates "no pressure with inducer on". After shutdown, it spills water out of the condensate drain, waits 5 minutes comes back on and repeats this cycle 4 times. Then it shuts down and flashes an error code 6 "Pressure switch lockout". without coming back on until turned off at the switch and rebooted.

Check your drain line. It appears that water is not draining and backing up into the furnace. Is there a drain trap? If not or if there is no vent on the drain line there can be a vacuum created when the furnace is running and it actually pulls water back into the furnace and when the inducer shuts off it releases the vacuum allowing the water to drain.

SOURCE: my boiler most of the

Looks as if your boiler is over firing (extended run) you probably have a faulty sensing thermostatic probe causing this the switch you are resetting is a safty pressure switch it is designed to keep the pressure from building which could cause the boiler to explode.

Intermittent furnace problem. Cycles fine multiple times then fails to ignite. Diagnostic code, failed pressure switch. 2 pressure switches in series, 1 for inducer and 1 for gas. Both test good.

Is this a high efficiency furnace. If it is then your pvc vent piping is piped with the wrong pitch meaning water is in the line .If it's not a high efficiency then check your pressure switch hose for any blockage.

Is 32c a normal temp for an exhaust on a force air high efficiency house furnace? This is the air temp that goes outside after heating the plenum. Is there a lot of heat going up the "chimney"??

Any furnace providing heat where it should and has little to no heat from its exhaust is doing a GREAT job ;-)

Our high efficiency gas furnace was installed with a PVC pipe as a 'chimney' which bothered me to no end until I found the surface temp of that plastic pipe only barely warm to the touch- that is a home run!

Anyone know about high efficiency furnace?

There is a lot of calculations involved in this. You need to know the sqaure footage of living space, the R value of the insulation, the construction type, size and number of windows etc.

1 do you have a program or mercury buld mercury bulb.is usally a adjustable heat anticipator which a digital is fixed I recommend a digital t stat but also be advised that mercury bulb tstat are really phased out you could also have a issue with your main limit inbetween the heat exchanger wheather it is a cam stat or a normally closed limit but being a new furnace its more likely to be a n/closed limit will open if there is to much heat in supply box above the evap coil.you would need to take your delta temp reading within manufacture specs..or call aca or your local hvac company 770 932 8990 ask for mr.blaine to schedule your appointment today or are office staff thanx.

Hello, sounds like the limit switch is opening on the furnace.Usually when a furnace goes off on its high limit is becuase the airflow is being restricted making the furnace overheat. a limit switch is there to protect the furnaace from overheating, most cuases are either dirt or the blower motor not running up to speed, anything that cuts down on the airflow will cause the high limt switch to open.

Ducane high efficiency propane furnace, pressure switch problem

A short cycle heat cycle indicat a pressure switch replacement was needed. This did not fix the problem. the problem was in PCV line since the end was filled with slugs and cause the line to backup with water. When this happen the system would stop asking for gas. the water would leak out and it would restart. The problem was fixed by cleaning value at end of PCV. This released the water, two quart of water, that was back up causing problem. Curious if a filter change indicator was providing a clue that was missed?

Sounds like you are not proving flame to me. Could be a variety of things. I think it may be the board...but that is a guess from past history with Ducane
