Only had phone about 1 week. Will not ring when my number is called, goes straight to voicemail after one ring. Also, says "connecting....." on both handsets. Tried taking battery loose and reconnecting to no avail. Probably will return to BestBuy.

My handset displays CONNECTING...
Move the handset closer to the telephone base. You might have moved out of range.

This is what was listed in the Vtech Manual.

What I suggest is not just powering it off, but remove battery and wait a couple of minutes. Put battery back in and try it. The other thing I suggest is a new battery or switching it temporarily with a phone that works, to see if that helps before you buy a new one. If the battery is weak it will have trouble reaching the base.

I had a similar problem. I tried taking the phone battery out, disconnecting the power to the base, and disconnecting and reconnecting the phone, waiting about 30 seconds before I reconnected for each of these. Not sure what worked, but about 5 seconds after I completed all of these, the phone was back online. This is the second time this has happened, but the phone seems to function well except for this.

My vtech digital 6.0 cordless phone says not registered but when someone calles the base of the phone still rings and people are able to leave messages but the actual phone isnt ringing, how can i fix it?

The base and the handset are not communicating. To have them do so, you need to "register" the handset with the base. Since you neglected to specify the model of your VTech DECT 6.0 phone I can't tell you how to do that. I can suggest you enter the model number into the search box here to download a copy of the manual. The manual will give you instructions on how to register the handset.

Can i turn down the base ringer (or turn off) on my vtech dect 6.0?

Welcome to FixYa!

The base ringer is dependent to your handset ringer. If you lower the volume or turn off the handset ringer, the base ringer will follow.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Have a great day.

Bought a spare 3111 handset and cant connect it to my base. it looks as if it was connected to another base at one time. screen just says "connecting..." and there is nothing I can do to clear...

The handset must be registered to the base unit if the system has multiple handset ability, the manual will tell how to register the handset. If the system is a two handset system then only two handsets can be registered.

Phone screen just say connecting

If is says connecting then most probably its not getting a connection from the base. It could also be your telephone line. Check if the line is active.

One 6041 handset will not connect, while the second handset does.

Unplug the entire phone set system from both electrical power and wall jack for approx 2-3 minutes and replug.

It's a reset measure that allows the entire system to reset / reboot as well as stops any and all line feed memory from the live phone line to hold the fault.

Such can be somewhat common when sharing the line with a DSL connection or wireless router is in use.
