Hi Dee, I believe your camera is set to a higher ISO or very slow shutter speed. Such settings are suitable for darker conditions - inside building or night shots. This can be fixed by quick buttons on the camera (wheel, pointers). I suggest you read the manual - check the section for setting the ISO, the aperture and shutter speed.

I have not accessed the camera model you mentioned here but since you haven't seen an answer to your question, I will provide a general guide.
Many cameras are designed to place the buttery door at a joining point of the body pieces - usually 2 main pieces. If you can locate the tiny screws that secure the 2 x pieces together, it is possible to unscrew them and lever the body pieces apart with a gentle force to get the door open.

I have a Canon PC 1309 Digital Camera. There is a symbol of a hand on the screen when the camera is on any setting except the Auto setting. And
there is only a preview of the picture (before you shoot it) in the Auto setting. Otherwise I cannot see what I am taking a picture of.

What mode are you shooting in? It seems you may either have your shutter speed set manually to a slow speed or, alternatively you have set your apperture set to a high number e.g f/20 or there abouts. Because this is a very narrow apperture the camera will compensate by using a slow shutter speed.
Try some shots in fully automatic mode and see what happens. With a slow shutter speed you can expect any movement to produce blurred images.

This is likely. Action shots require a fast shutter speed which in turns requires more light. Aside from a very expensive lens, about the only thing you can do is try to increase the light, slow the shutter speed, and increase your ISO rating to 1600.

It depends on the effect you want.

• To freeze motion, you need either a fast shutter speed, or a fast flash in a dark environment. In less than bright light you may not be able to get a fast enough shutter speed to stop the action. Increasing the camera's sensitivity to light by increasing the ISO will help some.
  
• You can blur the motion by using a slower shutter speed and a stable camera. Set a slow shutter speed and put the camera on a tripod or other stable surface, and you can get things like streaking car taillights and star trails. How slow a shutter speed depends on the speed of the subject.
• You can pan with the subject. Move the camera with the subject, and keep it moving even while the display blanks out while taking the picture. This will keep the subject sharper while blurring the background to lend a sense of motion to the picture.
• It's either to freeze motion if the subject is moving straight toward or away from you than if it's moving across your field of vision.

there are many reasons for blurry pictures: unsteady hand, you have selected to slow a picture speed, there is not enough light in the room. make sure the camera is on auto and there is sufficient light. try taking your photos outside during the day to test the camera.

Guys,
you need additional flash or brighter light to click in low lighting condition. In order to compensate for low light conditions, the shutter goes slow and therefore you get fuzzy pictures.

Another way is to click on movie(video) mode and then atleast you can see them moving around as well as while editing, you could take out some pictures from the video( though on lmuch ower resolution).

Maybe you have the camera set to a slow shutter speed. Try putting it on Program mode.
