Put some air into the valve stem, once the tank is empty charge it to 10 psi then turn the water back on. If you get air out of the faucet, the tank is shot.
The tank should have only 5-10 psi when empty of water. If your unit sat for any amount of time your reverse osmosis membrane may have a problem. was all the cartridges changed? Should be yearly.
You have to prime air out of new filters. Also if you have a reverse osmosis water system, your water pressure may not be sufficient.
You may have to bypass the filter. Most fridges come with a plug that will fit where the filter goes. good luck
no "slug" is available however you could just use a reverse osmosis diaphram pressure tank to boost the water pressure. you can also use a water supply tube to bypass the in-refrigerator completely.
There is a blue cap on the body of the white pressurized water tank. Twisting off the blue cap, you will see a air nozzle - similar as those on the tire. You need to pressurized the tank to 60 PSI. I spend hours to figure out this solution on my own system.
Typically a reverse osmosis storage tank should have a precharge of approximately 7 psi. Depending on the make/model of your tank it may have a higher charge currently which would cause the tank to not fill. There should be a schrader valve on the bottom or side of the tank. I am not familiar with the Maruyama system since I live in the states. After reading the above article you might want to test your water. Your system may be operating properly? To me it soulds like you have a water softner and flushed the salt out, and now you have the proper pellets? If your water is not very hard you shouldn't use too much salt. Building supply stores sell cheap water test kits. Try that, and if your water tests ok, and doesn't smell, and lathers up with soap sounds like everthing is working ok. Hope I helped
