I have a kenore electic oven, model number is 790.75711893. The oven door has locked and I can't get it to open. The only think that seems to work on the digital display is the clock. The other selections do not seem possible, or rapidly revert to the clock... any suggestion what to do?
IF the advice by Vince does not work, you may need a new stove, the control module for that unit is no longer available.
Do you have a button with a small padlock symbol?
yes hold for 10 seconds
no..do you have start button? press and hold for 5 seconds
no...how about a clear/off press and hold for a full 3 seconds.
Sorry I'm at home and the teck guides are not here. So I gave it what I know from memory.
last but not least try turning off the breaker to it for a minute.
Hope this helps a little.

There may be a fuse gone the oven works on 230 volts there also may be another fuse box under the oven behind a drawer or behind the oven. if all of that checks out ok, it sounds like you may need a new E.R.C. that would be the clock and control board. If all of your fuses and breakers are ok it would be best to have someone from Sears to look at it.

Try pressing STOP/CLEAR, then pressing in and holding the door switch plunger for 6 seconds on the upper right hand corner of the door.

I had the same problem. Open the oven door. Press and hold the light switch. You will hear the door lock move back into the correct position. Hope this fixes your problem. This has happened to me twice and holding the light switch always works.

It appears your door lock mechanism has failed in this instance.
First - unplug the unit for 40 minutes and re-try.
For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...
FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.
PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.
If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.
Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.
If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.
Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question.
