Hi!

Insert the floppy disk that came with the motherboard to recover the bios. Make sure that the BIOS file in the floppy disk is renamed as P4P800SE.ROM.

Have fun!

Hi,
Sounds like you're trying to flash the bios..

Using ASUS EZ Flash to update the BIOS: The ASUS EZ Flash feature allows you to easily update the BIOS without having to go through the long process of booting from a diskette and using a DOS-based utility. The EZ Flash is built-in the BIOS firmware so it is accessible by simply pressing <Alt + F2> during the Power-On Self Tests (POST). To update the BIOS using ASUS EZ Flash: 1. Visit the ASUS website (www.asus.com) to download the latest BIOS file for your motherboard and rename the downloaded file as P4P800SE.ROM. Save the BIOS file to a floppy disk. 2. Reboot the system. 3. To launch EZ Flash, press <Alt+F2> during POST

Hope this helps

How do I find the sound unc path to file download

I don't know what 'Sound' unc path you are referring to, but if you want to find the UNC path to a networked share, it is \\computername\sharename
So if your computer is named say Johndoe and you have already mapped a drive to the folder you are wanting to access called itunes share then your UNC path is going to be \\Johndoe\itunes share
Good Luck!

Bad bios checksum

You need to go to the website of whoever made the motherboard and get the BIOS flash utility and the BIOS binary file to update your BIOS. Make sure you get the right one, as using the wrong one can render your motherboard worthless. The BIOS file has to be the exact match. There is no such thing as close in this situation.
If you are not sure of the exact make and model, get te free Belarc Advisor from http://www.belarc.com
The BIOS chip holds information about your motherboard hardware. It is reprogrammable. It uses what is known electrically erasable read only memory. This is also called Flash memory. Reprogramming is called flashing. When you flash the BIOS, all data is erased, then the new data is written. The flash utility will most likely allow you to save the old contents, but you might have an extremely tough time recovering from an improper flash. You'll also probably need a couple of floppy disks, one of which may have to be bootable. If you need a bootable floppy disk, you can get an image file from http://www.bootdisk.com.

LaCie silverscreen Utilities CD-ROM

The OS is hidden in memory, you can clear all files off the machine and it will still work.

The only requirements are the 4 folders:
Firmware
Movies
Music
Pictures

That's it!

New firmware can be found at www.lacie.com
