P4P800 SE not bootable on sata

Hello download the manual here:http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_478/P4P800_SE/#downloadPlease select your windows systemOpen the manual folder and click on global for downloadUnzip the file and you need adobe reader to read the contentTake a look in the BIOS and under advanced you should be able to see the motherboard settings for the drives. Make sure that the board is set to use ENHANCED settings and not LEGACY, then go to the BOOT section and make sure the SATA drive is the first drive. Good luck

Cannot see 4 gb ram

Hi Ciccio8670,

If you are running 32-bit Windows, you must live with it. You will not ever see all 4GB of RAM you've paid for.
If you are running 64-bit Windows, you may have to live with it. Depending on your motherboard's chipset, your system may support memory remapping. If so, you will be able to use all 4GB of RAM.

Detailed:
Due to an architectural decision made long ago, if you have 4GB of physical RAM installed, Windows is only able to report a portion of the physical 4GB of RAM (ranges from ~2.75GB to 3.5GB depending on the devices installed, motherboard's chipset & BIOS). This behavior is due to "memory mapped IO reservations". Those reservations overlay the physical address space and mask out those physical addresses so that they cannot be used for working memory. This is independent of the OS running on the machine. Significant chunks of address space below 4GB (the highest address accessible via 32-bit) get reserved for use by system hardware: • BIOS – including ACPI and legacy video support • PCI bus including bridges etc. • PCI Express support will reserve at least 256MB, up to 768MB depending on graphics card installed memory
What this means is a typical system may see between ~256MB and 1GB of address space below 4GB reserved for hardware use that the OS cannot access. Intel chipset specs are pretty good at explaining what address ranges gets reserved by default and in some cases call out that 1.5GB is always reserved and thus inaccessible to Windows.

If you are attempting to install software over a network connection, copy the installation files to your local hard drive and run the installation from your own computer. If you are not installing over a network, try the following troubleshooting steps that usually resolve this issue.

  2. Browse to C:\Program Files \Common Files\InstallShield\engine.

  4. Install the latest version of the iKernel engine.
    1. Download iKernel engine update and save it to your Desktop.
    2. Double-click on ikernelupdate.exe to install.

Problem : the computer is turning off just few

desktop or laptop computer?

Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect your computer hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions IDE,SATA

the leads from your ((MOTHERBOARD TO YOUR HARD DRIVE)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electic extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error

make sure you have enough RAM and the ram modules are securely seated with no dust in the sockets

a computer needs all of the data and electrical current to travel through every working device and to have an end to be able work properly

a motherboard and a hard drive any leads between them will fail before your motherboard or your hard drive if its a flat ribbon 40 pin type IDE replace it this will be the first to fail check all electrical extensions make sure they are securely seated even the cd/dvd floppy drives need to have current go through make sure these drives are working hope this help you

I need video controller driver(vga compatible)

Hello,
This doesn't sound like a Driver issue, sounds more like you do not have the proper codec(encodes/decodes video)installed. Download http://www.videolan.org/vlc/. This is a free video player. This player has a huge variety of video codecs pre-installed.
