Re: where can i get a Gear & Pin Assembly for my...
I am pretty sure that John Deere still owns Homelite. When I had a Homelite chainsaw I went to a John Deere implement dealer and they ordered it for me.

Using the wooden handle end of a hammer, push the piston and connecting rod assembly outward until piston rings clear cylinder bore. Remove piston and connecting rod assembly through top of cylinder block.
To separate piston from connecting rod, remove piston pin retaining clips, then press pin from piston using a suitable driver.
The chain bar usually sits on a pin to position it in place on a chainsaw. Is yours there? If it is and the bar appears to be installed correctly, does the chain saw work as normal?
it is hard to figure out what roll pin you say but there is no secret if the roll pin is inside the bell housing you need to remove the transmission
hope it helps
You can go to a small engine repair shop, parts shop or look on eBay and they should have the fuel lines you need. Not very expensive, about $1.00/foot for new Tygon lines. You are way overdue for replacing yours. The ethanol in the gas does a job on them.
There shouldn't be an adjustment to it. It is held in place with a pin & small piece of metal. The tiny spring goes under the small piece of metal and it hooks to the needle valve.
if you didn't mix any oil with the fuel, you probally burnt the piston and cylinder up.the only to find out if you did is to pull the muffler off and look inside the cylinder and see if there are any scoring on the piston.if there is you need to replace the piston and cylinder assembly.most cost $100.00 or more.usually they are not worth repairing.i know this is not good news but i hope this helped, let me know.................
Homelite shows the short block assy ($84.02) but no breakdown of the top end. I've never taken one apart, not cost effective. Here's the link to their parts site. Have the UT number available
There is a roll pin on the gear. Take a small punch and knock it out. When you get the pin knocked out, spray carb. cleaner around the gear and shaft and with a rag wrapped around the gear to keep from cutting your hand, turn the gear while holding the rotor. It will come out and you can pull the shaft up through the distributor.
