We've had a Cuisinart DCC-2000 coffee maker for less than a year: 1) it stops brewing about halfway through the brewing cycle (with plenty of water still in the reservoir, and 2) the "Clean" light

This problem is caused by a clogged water filter in the unit.

Unplug the coffee maker.

Open the top panel where you normally pour in the water and set the coffee filter.

Gently pull up on the tap that sticks up in the back left corner of the open top. This will free a long plastic part that has a compartment at the bottom that contains a filter filled with charcoal.

Unsnap the small compartment that holds the filter and clean it gently under running water with light brushing.

If there is a lot of coffee build-up, the water chamber where you normally pour in fresh water needs to be cleaned out. Pour in a cup of water and invert the unit over a large sink pouring out the water through the opening you normally use to fill the unit.

Repeat this until you remove the coffee grounds.

Let the unit dry fully before plugging in to run again.

SOURCE: Cuisinart Coffe Maker has no power

Talked to Cuisinart tech support today and they told me to unplug and leave it for 2 hours... that resets it to the factory defaults. Worked for me...

SOURCE: One year old coffee maker won't brew

This is my second dcc-2000 with the same problem. I tossed the first one and in less than a year the second one exhibits the same issue. I called the Customer Service (1-800-726-0190). The rep told me to unplug the unit for at least 2 hours adding that this would let the system "reset itself". He then instructed me to run vinegar and water through it to clean the pumping system. I am doubtful about this solution but the rep assured me it would be replaced if I still have problems. It's worth calling CS to get it replaced, however, it seems that this model is flawed by design.

SOURCE: Cuisinart DCC-2000 12-Cup Coffee Maker shuts off after brewing

Turn the function knob to Auto Off
Hold down the hour button til you see the clock display blinking
you can then use the Hour and Minute buttons to program how long you want the coffee maker to stay on.
You can choose from 0 minutes (seems to be what you have it set on now) to 4 hours.

SOURCE: Cuisinart DCC-1150 series coffee pot how to clean reservoir

Hello dhubert14,
This is a really common problem with the cuisinarts. I am most familiar with the DCC-1200, but you may be able to solve the problem. This an indication that something is plugged up. Open the top of the unit and in one of the corners you should find a filter stick or column that is removable. Pull it out and open it up to clean out the clogged up carbon filter in there. (You can later buy a new filter on Amazon.) Clean out the debris from the bottom of the cavity. Replace the stick into the cavity once cleaned. Now it's time to run through a solution of 2 parts water and 1 part vinegar. Do this once or twice with fresh solutions, then with a pot of fresh water. When the filter stick is plugged up the sensor says its time to clean it, but most people don't know about this fix. I hope this is really helpful to you, dhubert14. Positive feedback is appreciated. Good luck. NormanZ

SOURCE: The red cleaning light on my cuisinart coffee

Hello sandra_strat,
There are two possible issues, but easy to do. When decalcifying your unit the solution should be 2 parts water and 1 part vinegar. So if you have a 12 cup maker it would be 8 cups water and 4 cups vinegar. Complete the process with a pot or two of fresh water to rinse. Second, there may be a water filter stick that is removable. Open the lid and look for it in one of the corners, pull it out and remove the carbon filter there. (You can get a new on Amazon). Then replace the stick.
I hope this is a help for you. If it is please leave positive feedback for me. Thanks! NormanZ

Need to clean cuisinart 12 cup coffee on demand coffe pot. How do I clean?

Do you have the DCC-2000?

To delime a multi-cup coffee maker, mix white vinegar with water (1/3 vinegar and 2/3 water) and fill the water reservoir completely. Then turn the coffee maker on. Wait until the unit completes the "brewing" cycle and beeps 5 times. Turn off the coffee maker. Discard the liquid after the cycle. Then fill the reservoir with clean water and turn on again. When this cycle completes, again discard the liquid. Repeat the water rinse if you notice an odd taste to the coffee afterwards. (If the coffee maker still has deposits, repeat the vinegar cleaning cycle and rinse cycles.) There are commercial deliming products, mix them with water following the package directions.

The manual for the DCC-2000 is available as a link here: http://www.cuisinart.com/products/coffee_bar/dcc-2000.html . The direct link to the manual is http://www.cuisinart.com/share/pdf/manuals/dcc-2000.pdf .

I hope this helps.

Coffee maker shuts off too soon after brewing.

Hello FloydBob, The Cuisinart DCC-1200 has the ability to program the auto-off function that keeps your coffee warmer plate on after brewing is complete.

The unit lets you select the time increments from zero up to 4 hours.

See page 6 of the attached manual for the full instructions for reprogramming the coffee maker.

To program the Variable Auto Off:
1. Turn the FUNCTION KNOB to the “Auto Off”
position. Press and hold the “Hour” button
for 2 seconds. The clock display will start
blinking.
2. Program the coffeemaker to shut off from
zero to four hours after brew cycle is
finished by using the “Hour” and “Minute”
push-buttons.

I figured you might also like to have a complete instruction/owners manual so you can have access for any other questions you might have about your coffee maker, in the future.

I hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

Coffee pot won't turn on

The parts to repair a problem of this magnitude are generally not available. The DCC-2000 has a thre-year warranty. I would call Cuisinart and see if you can get an in-warranty replacement. I have a high opinion of cuisinart and their products, but this particular coffeemaker, I do not personally reccomend.
