ok so you downloaded the driver already.

in the new box, click Driver and click uninstall, just to make sure it's disconnected.
    exit device manager

    Download, Install and run it

    **
Click on the TOOLS tab on the left side. Scroll to the Broadcom wireless 802.11g network adapter software and click on it (DO NOT REMOVE LAN software)
Click on the Run Installer to uninstall the software
    **
Click on the REGISTRY tab on the left side
    click on Scan For Issues
    click on Fix Selected Issues
If it asks you to make a backup click yes and save
    **
Click on the CLEANER button on the left side
    click on Analyze
    click on Run Cleaner
    Close CCleaner

    Restart your computer

Acer Aspire One netbook just finished a Windows update (XP Home) and the wireless network adapter went away. Connected now via Ethernet cable.

Go to the Device manager.
In the device manager do you see the Wireless adapter it might be under Network adapter .
Check If it is disabled then enable it.
Or you may find the option under other devices. The drivers of the adapter might b uninstalled.
You will need to install the adapter drivers.

Wireless connection problem

Check your wireless adapter and see if its properly installed. Go to the device manager.

Right click My Computer. Click on Properties. Click Hardware tab and click on the device manager button.

If there's a yellow question mark under other devices, check if it says network controller. Download and install the correct driver for your wireless card.

There is another driver for this laptop that's a different type of wifi card.
http://www.acerpanam.com/synapse/forms/portal20.cfm?recordid=4516&formid=3394&website=AcerPanAm.com/au&siteid=8116&words=all&keywords=&areaid=12
that's one but that's for WinXP
Here's a site where all the drivers for that particular model
http://www.acerpanam.com/synapse/forms/portal20.cfm?website=AcerPanAm.com/au&siteid=8116&areaid=12&formid=3394#results
You can go down by each one until you find the correct driver or you can take off the wifi cover under the laptop and look at the wifi card and it will tell you which model it is so that you won't have to try each one till you find the correct driver.

Wifi connectivity problem

It's possible that the driver for your wireless adapter is already installed. Check under Device Manager > Network Adapters if there is anything pertaining to your wireless adapter. Make sure that your wireless adapter (under Device manager > Network adapters) does not have any red X or yellow question mark.

Red X indicated that it's disabled , while yellow question mark will suggest that you need to update the driver. If your wireless adapter is working properly under Device Manager > Network adapters then you will need to configure it's utility for wireless connection.

If you are running windows XP, look for the wireless icon in the lower right side of your task bar and use it to connect to your preferred network.

Good luck and have a nice day!
