When I turn on the camera to look at my pictures taken, a screen with the information about the camera appears. I cannot get it to go away.
Ok I just posted that I had the same problem and I just figured it out by trial and error. What I did was
press the playback button.
press OK
it will take you to the edit picture menu and the first choice is D-lighting. It should be highlighted Yellow. press Ok and then the screen will come up with 2 of your picture with different lighting. choose which ever one you want then press OK. The image will save and then the camera info should go away. I have NO idea why this worked but it did and I hope this works for you!!
Hi, I just used "Solution #2" by grace 130, and then I pushed the "down directional key" which brought up the histogram. Try pushing the up/down directional buttons to make that information go away while you are view a picture.
This is by design.
An excerpt from the manual on page 22 says "Shooting information is also displayed after the shutter-release button is released when On is selected for Auto Shooting info (pg 83) and immediately after the camera is turned on. To hide the shooting information, press the (Info) button again. The display format depends on the option selected for "Info display format" in the setup menu (pg 81)
Hop this helps.

i have this problem too. It isn't the normal shooting menu. it is like the camera's info. It is a little black screen that is smack in the middle of the playback screen. with small while writing
it has
camera
metering
shutter
aperture
Exposure mode
Exp
Focal length
flash mode
after each of these it has the info that the camera has. I can't for the life of me get it off my playback screen and I cant review my pics
