Hitachi volume bar always on, remote doesn't work

8 years old. Get picture but volume bar always displayed at 0. Can get it to run up but then runs down. Remote no longer works. Panel buttons don't work except off and channel, input doesnt but effects volume bar which again goes back to zero.

Four hour unplug doesn't change anything.

Exactly the issue. Seems my sons friends gave it a beer to drink. Cleaned up its face nicely but the control panel was completely corroded. Nice call!

Service menu

Set volume to '0'. Simultaneously press Display button on the remote control, and Volume - button on the TV set to get into service mode. The is one way. The procedure will differ with models to models. If you wish to get more, http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Check this link. Samsung HL-T6187S SOUND DROPPING TO 0? By itself

If you can get at the controls again----undo or unsolder the micro switch for volume down! Remove it and see if set works.

A no brainer in that if that switch is bad and vol down still displays nothing else would work

I have a tv/dvd flatscreen televsion. It is only a year old. The problem is I can not hear anything. My television is displaying the screen and movies/television is working fine, just no volume. Please...

Does the the little bar graph on screen volume display react when you turn the volume up and down or does it say something like TV VOLUME IS FIXED?

Try using your remote to look in your tv's MENU for the AUDIO OPTIONS.

Check to make sure the SPEAKER option is turned ON.

If that doesnt work, try running a cable from your tv's audio out jacks in the back to one of your home stereo's AUX inputs and see if you can hear the tv through your stereo.

Good Luck.

Have an Hitachi 60sx12b. the sound meter bar stays on. can manually adjust the sound up but will go back down to 0. tv remote or sat. remote doesn't work at all. Please help

Hi,
It sounds either volume down button is bad that turns volume down on its own or system control chip got defective and decreasing volume level.
Press volume down button on tv front and check is it working properly.
Let me know to find out further info to solve the issue.
Thanks.

Mitsubishi ws65711-Volume bar always displays/remote not working

Just solved my problem. Found out that the down volume button must have been sticking. Tapped on it a number of times and finally the volume bar went off and then the up volume worked fine. Looks like the down volume button on front panel is intermittently getting stuck. This happened last year but went away before I could figure it out. Maybe going to try and blow some compressed air in button socket.
