It does not appear to be reversing. If it was it should have a lever right above the switch. Not worth much either since parts are no longer available to repair it.

SOURCE: Drill Started Smoking Now won't run

An overload could not cause catastrophic failure. Try contacting the manufacturer via internet and ask for their info on your product. If useful print it and bring back to the tech. DO NOT GIVE IN TO THEIR BULLY TACTICS. The 1st rule of any business is "The customer is ALWAYS right" Bring the tool back to where u bought it and demand a full refund.

SOURCE: chuckless drill stuck tight with drill bit in

if you trap the chuck in a bench vice or alike and then use the drill in reverse in short bursts until it loosens a good spray with wd40 will also aid the situation

Try putting a vise grip on the bit,, and a big vise grip or chanel lock wrench on the key lock..

That should break it free..

Good luck..

Vintage unlisted model Milwaukee drill with frozen chuck.

on the bench drill ( drill stand ) if you see a long slot in the shafts when you pull the drill down all the way , the you will need a tapered bit of metal that fits in that slot
Drive the metal through so that it forces the chuck assembly out of the morse taper
You can get replacement units from any good tool shop

I have a mastercraft industrial reversible drill. Model number 1540. Looking for a replacement handle with the power trigger and reverse switch. Anyone know where I can get replacement parts?

this picture of the drill is familiar or similar to a "skill" made drill
talk with a service agent for skill, B&D woulf machines and you may get a cross match or even a handle from a failed drill

How can I get the safe open? I have no key and I dont know the combination

With a carbon tipped drill bit. You'll have to drill the lock. This will destroy the safe. A good locksmith may be able to open it without destroying it. It's worth a try.

How do you work the keyless chuck on the 6.5 amp 3/8" rear handle pro drill?

Most drills with the keyless chuck work this way. Put the drill into reverse. Grasp the chuck with your left hand, and then pull the switch slowly. This should release the chuck. If your drill has no reverse, then grasp the chuck again with your left hand and hold the drill with your right hand. Turn the chuck with your left hand quickly, this should release the drill as well.

How far do you put a bit in to know it's placed correctly. I'm trying to surprise my husband by removing some kitchen cabinets, but I'm not sure I put the bit in right and I don't know how to make the...

Find the reverse switch near the trigger. Press one direction for forward, in the middle is a trigger lock and the other direction is reverse. Dont surprize yourself and have the cabinet fall on you.

If you have short bits, put about 1/2 of it into the chuck. If you have long bits (about 2 inches long), put about 1/2 inch of it into the chuck.

Be aware that when the drill runs in reverse, the chuck tends to loosen and when that happens, your bit will fall out.

If Hubby has a bit holder, I'd suggest you use that and place the bit into the bit holder. Makes for a better reach.

Good luck on your project.

How do I change my black & decker electric drill to go in reverse or forward? As you can see I'm tool challenged. Kathleen

The switch near the trigger that toggles left or right controls that.

Good luck with your project, Kathleen.
